Magnus Bergqvist- I'd count Sandman as urban fantasy, just because it'sa cmic doesn't mean it shouldn't count in my opinion. Death from that series was my favorite character ^_^.
I'm really glad to see Murphy got some support since she is such a great character and amanges to do so with no super powers and only very big guns to aid her.

Karrin Murphy is a female police officer and supporting character in the Dresden Files, she's intewresting and fun to read about. Most Dresden Files stories feature her to some degree.

Oops...why I didn't recognize her name, I don't know.
I've read the first four books in the Dresden Files...waiting on a book club order for the next four...
Thanks for clarifying.

Not a problem, oh and welcome to the Greywalker forum nice to have you here. I bet you didn't recognize it because she always just called Murphy her first name is so rarely used haha.

Well, I missed the chance to vote on this, but I would have voted for Harper on this list. If she was mentioned I probably would have voted for Sookie Stackhouse from Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire series. I find both of the heroines similar, strong female characters learning to cope with strange and unfamiliar territory. The background of the Southern Vampire series has a few more twists and turns than the Greywalker series, although the strangeness of Grey Seattle is quite intriguing in how it varies from the normal, while Sookie's world in natively more bizarre than reality.

I think Selina Rosen's Drewcilia Qwah (Queen of Denial) deserves a mention as well, if only to bring some sci-fi to the list :P
