The only problem I am having right now is being torn between 2 character ideas. One, based loosely off of Mark Wahlberg's character in the Big Hit, was a great and funny movie. And the other would be a martial artist, not sure of background for that idea. I sort of was intimidated by everything I saw in the martial arts d20 book. I will try to sit down this weekend and work on the two ideas and see which I like best.

One of the reasons I'm encouraging people NOT to look at outside books just yet is because I'd like them to create characters, first, and then we'll worry about the mechanics. I have Blood and Fists, and I've corresponded with Charles Rice. His solutions tend to be even more feat-intensive than the books by Monte Cook, and that's saying a lot.
If you want to make a martial arts character, please do so. I'd like to see one in the game. If we don't like the mechanics, I'll change them until we do like them.

Just another shout-out to the martial-arts stuff in Spycraft... there're tons of feats there if you want'em, but you can make a serious whup-ass kung-fuista with a small assortment; many of the style-trees have a few neat maneuvers per feat.

I'd like martial arts to be something more like the tactical feats in Complete Warrior then one feat per move, personally.
You'll probably be my martial arts d20 consultant if Dai Oni goes with a martial artist, Chim.

Everyone,
Tuesdays at 6:30 PM works for me.
I have picked what I want my Character to be eventually. I am thinking a Sniper, in either a SWAT team or the US Marshal’s. Looks like this would mean basic military and then some kind of special training while there (maybe Rangers or SEALs not sure what exactly yet). Other than that info though I have not even started on a character. What should I do next?

So Origen, I will go ahead and start putting together a marital artist, who may have a bit of a checkered past.

Sounds good. Your age will be anywhere between 18 and 20, so the martial artist you want to become is something that will happen over the course of 10 to 12 levels. But anything human that you can envision is feasible.
