Boise STate is up to #9. pretty impressive IMHO. If Ohio State Loses tonight they'll be able to present a powerful argument for at least a share of the championship! Since more controversey is likely to help force the BCS and the NCAA into making real changes to their post season structure all I can say is:

VIVA LA GATORS!!! GO FLORIDA!!!

Note: MI citizenship and heritage is revoked if I ever root for the Buckeyes so this isn't a hard sentiment for me to express. :sawink2:

Boise State was #9 before the bowls.

At the half, Florida is up by 20pts.

whatever. We already saw a very sweet game last weekend, better than this one.

BCS needs overhauling and a playoff system.

<shrug> We'll see how the polls shake out. I'm hoping for the split.

I can't see how they could deny the only undefeated team a share. But then, I remember about eight years ago when Wyoming went undefeated, and didn't even get invited to a bowl.

Go BSU.

I just saw the polls on ESPN.com. BSU is ranked between 6 and 9. BCS places them 8th. WTF?

I think we need to do a BCS on the BCS to find out how far up their heads are.

The two official polls that came out today.

The coach's poll is contractually shackled to the BCS. Coaches are required to cast their votes as the BCS says. Boise State finished 5th in this poll. (A single coach broke the contractual bond and voted BSU as #1. He will be heavily fined for his insubordination.)

The USA Today poll is a poll of sportswriters. They have the latitude to vote for whoever they want.
They placed Boise State at #6.

The system's always been broken, but the BCS has only made it moreso. We were better off beforehand.

Dave Frohnmayer, President of the University of Oregon, is chairman of the BCS oversight committee. You can nominate him for Sports Jerk of the Year at tankmcnamara.com (http://tankmcnamara.com)

Heh, he's a good candidate, but the BCS stuff is pretty fresh in the mind. Wouldn't want to slight the sports jerks from early in the year, although I would have to think some to remember who they are.
