Margaret Weis Productions is publishing a Battlestar Galactica RPG.

Does anyone know anything about the game system? The article says it's going to be largely based on the system they used for the Serenity RPG, of which I hadn't even heard of until now. If the system is solid, this may be the thing to get me back into tabletop gaming. The new BSG series is one show on television that I watch faithfully and to have a good game based on it would be something I would like to try out. . . so long as the system isn't complete garbage.

I saw the Serenity RPG in a Barnes and Noble. With a brief 30-second flip through the book, it failed to impress me, and I'm afraid I can't say anything about the system itself, as that wasn't what I was looking at.

Haven't played Serenity, but the system seemed quite cumbersome to me when I looked at it quickly at a convention. Margaret Weis may write good books, but RPGs isn't her forte as far as I know. =^_^=

Yes, the dragonlance books are based on a campaign. As far as I know it was a "standard" D&D-campaign.

I thought they sucked, personally, and I think the Serenity RPG sucks as well.

IIRC Serenity uses the next refinement of the Buffy/Angel Unisystem.

Not as far as I could see. Serenity felt more like Earthdawn with different dice for stats and skills from d4 upwards to d12 + extra dice...
