What happens with items between the listed prices?
ie, a Kel-Tec P32 is 230

Always up to the GM, but you could just round it to the nearest amount... which could be explained by individual market pricing practices...

That's wrong.
A Glock is $550 IRL, but in the core rules, it costs 18.
A Sig is $1000, but it is also a cost of 18.

That list came out of the core rules, and they suggest you use the table as a guidline for things you cant find in the listing for purchase DC. If they have certain items listed with a purchase DC, of course that takes precedence, this table is just for rough guidlines. Obviously actual listed purchase dc's should take precedence.

Yeah. That's my understanding, as well. The rules are designed to prevent you from decking out your 1st level character in full tactical assault armor with a full auto suppressed MP5, nevermind the roleplaying issues associated with walking around attired thusly.
mouser: what's the game balance difference b/n a character having a sig sauer or a block? next to zero, i would imagine?

In the case of that "block," it has a +1 to hit for being a "masterwork weapon."
<points and laughs>
Doesn't make sense to me either.
But then, Origen is da man... :not_worthy:
...and the rules are the rules, so I merely play my PC according to my rules.
As you can see, Steve is torn...
If he doesn't use his firearm, additional people may die.
If he uses his firearm, it will probably get confiscated when the police arrive, and he is in no immediate danger.
If I roleplay him correctly, he may just watch and see what happens, but he is putting himself into a position to do something if he feels it is necessary, as you can see from the transcript.
He is also concerned that if he gets into trouble, he might not be allowed to join the Army, a death sentence, as far as he is concerned.
Given that he can wait for Ray to act and that he is not in any personal danger, he is unlikely to act, but rather to watch helplessly as Ray acts, and beat himself up for being such a coward later...
:D
are there errata for that book?

The obvious solution is to kill sources of the shiny toys and take there stuff!
Unfortunately, the current state of US law discourages killing and looting, or taking a box full of previously owned firearms still sticky with blood down to Bloodbath and Beyond
bloodbath & beyond--bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

The generic name for any source of firepower or other shinies relating to making things hurt that the PCs need
