Simple question:
Do *you* eat the skin of baked potatoes?
Assume that the skin is clean and not fresh out of the dirt.
When I was a boy, no one in my family ate it, then I learned that it was edible and nutritious and started eating it. Been doing it ever since.
Yet my mother still doesn't eat her potato skin even though she knows it's good.

So long as it's not burned or dried out yup, I eat it.

I don't particularly care for baked potatoes to begin with, but when I chance to eat them I generally do consume the skin right along with the fluff.

One of the things I was raised with -- if you had a baker, you ate the skin. It was a long time after that I found out that it was good for me.
BTW, I eat apple cores, too. So your mileage may vary.

The dried out and burned section is the best part of the baked potato.

Sez you, evil witch.
Yup. They contain cyanide. A half a cup of seeds could kill you.
:D Hope you're not eating a half cup at a sitting there.

Yes.
I generally leave the peel when I do pan fried potatoes as well as eat the skin if it's baked.

I grew up eating the skins, but Mr. marmalade didn't, so most of my potatoes are peeled these days. It's an Austrian cultural thing, and he's convinced they're contaminated with pesticides. They might be, but I figure the rest of the potato probably is too.

I never eat the skin (unless the potato is cut into slices and fried that way). Fresh potatoes I will peel after cooking, otherwise peeled before cooking.

It depends, sometimes the skin seems edible, sometimes it doesnt
However, its very rare I eat baked potatoes to begin with
Boiled potatoes I usually eat the skin, or fried

Why would you leave the skin!? I can understand leaving the fluff and just eating the skin, but leaving it - that's sick.

9 times out of 10, I eat the skin. If the skin is dry or gross, then I pass.
I also mash potatos with the skin on.
Absolutely. Baked, boiled, however.
