MAN did the giants give you hope and then dash in real quick there in the
4th quarter....AND the eagles had over 100 yards in penalties...

Ugh.

So much for the Giants being this year's Steelers, I guess.

"This year's Steelers" = the 2006 analog to the 2005 Steelers.

Or at least new batteries for his sarcasm detector.

I knew the Giants were going to blow it early in the third quarter. <shrug> Most of their players were taking plays off.
I kind of expect that kind of behavior from Plax, but for all his faults, I'd never seen Shockey blatantly taking plays off. Until today. I saw him half-heartedly go through the motions on four consecutive plays. Even on one where he was the primary receiver.
It was pathetic.

OTOH, I'm growing a large soft spot for the Jets. They've got heart. And discipline.

This is not the Saints' year and it is not a year for the Cowboys to dominate but I think both are going to challenge Chicago next year and I hope the people writing the schedule have them all playing each other in the last half of the season. The Giants seem to be doomed. I don't know if it's the coach, the players, or what but something serious needs to be done there. I'd like to point out that the Steelers are still not eliminated from the playoffs and Willie Parker is a pretty big X Factor for them right now. (This is seriously helping my fantasy prospects. Thanks dude!)

I'd also like to point out that Maurice Jones-Drew *deserves* the offensive ROY award. He's 5th in the NFL for touchdowns and it looks for all the world like he's going to hit 1000 yards from scrimmage as a rookie. That's a bigger and more consistent impact than Colson, Liernert, and Bush. The only other seriously justfiable recipient IMHO would be Vince Young with the Job he's down at the helm for the Titans.

Matt Millen needs to be dragged behind an F-350 down I-75 to Ohio and then dropped off at a hospital in Toledo. Martz seems to have some life back in the offense but they need someone competent making personell decisions. I'm tired of seeing good talent squandered. When I look at Roy Williams, Kevin Jones, and what Joey Harrington has accomplished in Miami I can't help but thing there's a serious problem here somewhere. If Millen lasts more than a week from the end of the season I'll be grossly disappointed.

Yup. Me too. Just something about a team that plays hard makes it great to watch. I was thinking "oh crap" when they had the opening drive fumble and Vikings scored.....I was thinking "same old Jets". But was very pleasently suprised by the beating they gave the Viks....
