I'm thoroughly enjoying Iron Chef reruns on the Food Network. But one think that I find a little irritating in that all the dishes created tend to be excessively fancy. Nothing wrong with that, as the show's premise, but I was thinking the show might have attracted a wider audience if it were a little more low-brow.

So, as a show revival concept, Iron Chef Trailer Park America.

The secret ingredient varies by show, of course: Cheese Whiz, vienna sausage, mac & cheese, etc.

Instead of official food critics to taste the dishes, use B-list stars like you'd be able to get to appear on Hollywood Squares and let them do commentary during the cooking time.

Making ice cream out of the secret ingredient in somewhat of an Iron Chef tradition. I think I remember seeing both broccoli and squash ice cream.

I've had garlic, green tea, grass and horseradish ice cream. Cheese whiz is possible I suppose.

And it's even loosly a dairy product. :D

If you amped up the sugar content, you could probably get something akin to cheesecake-like ice cream from Cheez Whiz.

No, no. You do NOT want to know about Cookin' Done Trailer Park Style

I went to an open house of one of the area businesses in Deep East Texas

One of the dishes there was this delicious rich smooth chocolate fudge. Much softer and smoother than most fudge Ive encountered

It turns out the secret ingredient WAS Cheese Whiz! And this wasn't Iron Chef, this was an actual recipe!

Its like I had completely fallen off the civilized portion of the map and into 'Here Be Dragons'
