I'm eagerly checking my mail now for a response to a game group here in town that needs some more players. Man I hope this works out, I'm dying for a game...

Then host one. Advertise at your FLGS or book store that carries RPG materials.

If you can't find a game to play in, create one.

Sadly that you mentioned, I've been a part of several play by post games, which are nice and relaxing and let me working on my writing skills. There are a variety of places to do so.

However, every single one of them has crashed and burned for a variety or reasons, through no fault or bad blood.....one guy just had too much on his plate and stopped, 2 others the DM's literally faded away and just stopped with no warning and so on....

Just bad luck...

Completely off topic;

I saw "Giddy, but in a manly way," and thought WHAT!!???

Just thought I'd share that. :D

It's all about you, isn't it Gideon? I guess if the topic had been "Tinny, but in a manly way" you wouldn't have even looked. I see how it is.

Actually I read most of the threads here. Though I don't post as much as I'd like to.

Even if the topic had been "Tinny, but in a manly way" I would have read through it. :)

And with all due respect to Lagomorphprime, I'd be just as giddy if I were able to get my group back together (RL has caused my group to disband :( ).

Why is it that I just had a Blues Brothers flashback?

That's typical. It's got a lot to do with the pacing of those games. I'm in with BN and Chris

Carm: Trinity is the Supers/Space(depending on what you want to expand upon) game from WW. It used to be called Aeon (I have that original book somewhere in my stacks). www.white-wolf.com/trinity.html (FYI, I don't know how good this link is, I can't view it from work)

I second the question. What is Trinity?

(Which I suppose answers your question Blue Ninja) I'm interested though.

LagomorphPrime

Heh, I have the Aeon book too. That was out for all of what, like a month before MTV threatened to sue WW's pants off and it became Trinity?

I haven't looked at it in forever, but I did like it when I looked at it originally. I heard that the setting changed a lot though as it became Trinity and then moved to focus more on the (insert name of the guys that could use their psi powers at super duper levels and were almost unkillable but were crazy too) than the psi operatives. I liked how the game felt like a sleeker, cleaner, more sci-fi version of Shadowrun. When I heard they focused more on those monster-guys it sounded like it became about crazy powers through the roof and that doesn't sound appealing.

What is the current state of that game?

Alright, let me think about what I want to run over the holidays. It'll be a play by post,a s the pace is nice and even for all the RL craziness....

I highly recommend them. Awesome stuff.

But I'm not too picky, really. Line 'em up and we'll take a swing.

What is the current state of that game? You're talking about Aberrant, which is about people who use quantum powers (basically the opposite from psionic powers). Trinity I believe had more books published for the line, but Aberrant seems to be far more popular, as it's basically super-heroes with IMO more realism.

Carm, BN: If you don't know what Trinity is, then I don't think you want to join the game, just because it'll take forever to explain the differences between the different Orders and the powers and such. Unless you want to cruise by www.drivethrurpg.com and buy the core book for yourself.

So the wife and I met the couple that host the game yesterday. We'll be starting at 4th level and the group is currently set in Waterdeep in the FR. I'm gonna get to play my Warmage (which I'm super happy about) and the wife is gonna try a halfling bard. I'm having to help her every step of the way as she knows nothing of D&D and my 3.5 PHB dissappeared a long time ago. Hopefully the new one I ordered from Amazon gets here soon.

Won't start playing for 2 weeks, as the Sat before Christmas is cancelled so I hafta wait for the Sat before New Years. Still, woot!

lampy, she doesn't have to wait if she want (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/home.html) to wait. :>

heh...my wife ran a solo adventure for me last night that led to my human bard 4 being killed by an ogre mage. ah, well.

Yeah, I showed her the SRD online and she already looked through some of it, but there's a lot to be said for the flavor and descriptions in the actual PHB for helping a newbie understand the game.

i think that you should get her to play a gnome bard. that way, origen's hatred can be complete. :D

wait a sec: is she new to gaming?

dude, are you converting a mundane to RPGs?! that's awesome!
