While tracking down my writings on Johan Santana, I also rediscovered this piece (http://thediamondangle.com/blogger/2004/06/pre-game-show-there-was-another-home.html) on a game I attended at the Metrodome in June of 2004. That was a fun day.

Det, what's your favorite sport?

I've been meaning to ask. You seem so multi-sports oriented. Do you have a favorite?

It'd probably be a toss-up between basketball and baseball, with (American) football a strong third. I've written about baseball the most, and attended more pro baseball games than for any other sport. I've played the most basketball, and probably had my strongest rooting interests in that sport. Football takes third because a lot of my interest in it comes from fantasy football, which is somewhat extracurricular to the sport itself.

Baseball is alot of fun. But it seems more on the wane with the younger generation....

Baseball definitely gains the most from personal attendance. It's not the same on TV. That's also true to some extent with basketball and football, but they are much more TV-friendly sports.

Yeah, but its just too expensive now adays. I loved going to one or two, but to justify the cost is a bit much....

PLus I dont see it played by kids much, outside of leagues. Its not like when I was a kid we use to get the roundup and the ball field and play...
