Sammy Sosa hit his first home run since Aug. 2005.

Granted, it's just Spring Training, but a few more jacks and Sosa likely makes the parent club instead of being relegated to the minors.

Making the Rangers starting roster isn't that high of a bar to reach. (I live about 5 miles from the rangers' home field and at times have been a big fan.)
I'm sure we'll see Sosa again and I"m sure he'll hit home runs again. I doubt we'll see the Sosa of old now thought...

I for one certainly hope not. He used to date my wife's best friend.

You mean, like before they sold out their franchise's future by signing A-Rod?

Mostly back when they had a core of solid players like Pudge Rodriguez but year after year refused to sign any pitching.
I forget exactly which year it was but post-season the Ranger's #1 pitcher signed with another team which itself wasn't noted for its strength of pitching staff. The guy landed the #4 spot in their rotation. And the Rangers didn't sign anyone to replace him.
That let me know they weren't serious about being competitive or ever winning anything. I don't expect my team to make it to the top every year in order to be a fan. But I do expect them to make an effort.
The A-Rod thing was to sell tickets and merchandise by having a star on the field. It wasn't part of an effort to field a winning team.

I was thinking this would be about Clemens
I expect to see the Rangers make the Playoffs sooner than the Astros
My highest hopes for teams from the 'Teams I would like to see win' pool is Cleveland this year
