I was thinking about a change that was made this year by ****. I can't remember anyone disputing it but as I watch games the more I think it was a mistake.

The change was the return yards by a DST not counting at all, unless there is a TD involved. A could of times this year I've seen an impressive return from a kick off or punt stopped just short of the goal line. These are impressive work by the special teams and because they were a couple yards short they don't get ANY credit for it.

Now I know we are up and going this year and changes to rules and scoring are not going to happen, nor should they, however that is an end of the game that is being counted on a score board.

Finally, Colston finds the end zone. I was beginning to thing everyone on the Saints were going to score except him.

So I was playing Madden on easy and scoring at will...

Oh wait, that's actually the Patriots crushing the Tenn. Lions. er Titans.

Wow, Brady got 44 points in the first half. Even more impressive than the return of TD-passin' Drew Brees. My Matt Hasselbeck Gambit ain't paying off so well right now. Shoulda' just stuck with Flacco.

And I thought Matt Schaub was being cool

And Wes Welker has 20 at the half, wince, if he keeps up at that rate he could make up for Jason Campbell's -.8

44 in the first half is all the more impressive because they're playing outdoors IN THE SNOW! That is not normally grounds for a high flying passing attack to go off on! Also, thank you Arizona for providing the letdown I was hoping for!

Punt return yards count 1/10. I could've swore that's in the rules... <checks> Yup.
Every 10 punt return yards 1

The reason I proposed that change was that the previous setting was 1/20 for kick return yards where the worst defenses in the NFL were getting free points by scooping up *average* kick returns. All it did was inflate the average pts/gm of D/ST without doing anything to recognize a good return unit. What I wanted to do, but the free ESPN leagues don't allow, is set big kick returns to award points for 40 and 60 yard returns at the same 1/20 rate because I wholly agree that big returns should be recognized somehow.

There's also been a Laurence Maroney sighting in the NE-Tennessee game.

EDIT -- There's the hat trick for Moss, not that it will do me much good this week. Somebody needs to call the National Guard, because the Patriots are killing the Titans.

I dunno. The way that game's going Belicheck could easily run the score to College levels of dumb and I'd expect moss to score enough points to get you within striking distance with the guys you have left. /grumble

I don't think it will matter Carm. Besides, Maurice Jones-Drew took up his slack.

He tends to do that......:D

But as someone once said, it aint over till its over. I thought I'd be in the playoffs last year by points until somone's player who usually puts up 10-15 points went off for over thirty.....

Oh look... ITG takes it in the shorts...

Again...

And the projections were *so* favourable...

Dont worry, you'll do better once you get Manning back. It doesnt help that your QB and Def slots are slight negative.

Who has teh NE defense? I want to know the points for that one.
