I don't know what globalregsession.go.com is, but it's making the league site load very slowly right now.

Ok I do have one complaint.
Last year, if a player that played WR (or any other position) was involved on special teams. If he made abig play it wouldn't count for his positional play as a WR. Well Knox for Chicago just ran one back. Now it WAS Knox...however he was not playing WR.
Why does he get points?
I thought those points were reflected in Chicago's Defense/ST.
I might have drafted a bit differently if I knew this was how the points worked.

Also, a certain rookie needs educating about bye weeks. The Gorillas are starting two players whose teams are one byes this week.

It's not supposed to work that way. It was like that for a while last year, too, but it was changed after a few weeks. It should be changed again, IMO.

Gah!! And I was projected to have a slim advantage!!! Fuck!! Is it too late to change things?!?
If you have players whose games haven't started yet that you can sub in for the guys on bye, you can make changes.

The frigging site is loading soooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooowly!!!
Well, you've got about 50 minutes before the next wave of games starts, so there's still time, although maybe less than it seems given how sluggish the league site has been today.

Yeah, it's super-busy. I didn't even think about posting about bye weeks. They're in play from Weeks 4-10, usually 4 or 6 teams are off in a given week during those weeks.

ESPN isn't even admitting that I'm logged in at this point. Say what you want about Yahoo, but we've never had anything like this happen with them, that I can recall. Free real-time scoring doesn't do much good if you can't access the site real-time.

Curse you Matt Schaub! You were a hero two weeks on my bench, but now, gah!

"Page unavailable at this time"... over and over... Methinks I've pooched myself.
I work sundays so I usually try and set it the night before. Its occassionally screwed me in the past with late scratches, but overall its better bet.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not asking for any intervention, change, or correction.
But this morning I drove to my parents for my sister's baby shower. I rush in to put on ESPN countdown, and find out that Kevin Smith would be playing. I had shuffled stuff around just in case he wouldn't play at all, with Burlson playing the flex role.
So I try to log into ESPN on my dad's computer...and it wouldn't let me. I tried for almost an hour.
It looks like, barring a major f' up by Jennings and holms, that I'm going to lose a close one this week.
The 14 point swing between smith and Burlson today will likely be within Det's margin of victory.
So...why did we leave Yahoo again?

Eh, I haven't won just yet. Hopefully it is just a matter of time, though.

damn...tough loss, pauly.
I'm inclined to make no changes to the rosters and in Chim's case I think it's probably going to be redundant if Gant has any sort of decent game tomorrow. Sorry dude. Also - WR's do put up goose eggs so it's still within reason that BB could win. Det seems to have developed a penchant over the years for landing on the wrong side of probability like that. I think it's karma's way of punishing him for being good at maths. :sawink2:
The special teams scoring should fall under the special teams unit and not under the player themselves. If it doesn't correct itself by the time I leave work tomorrow I will call their tech support line and find out what's going on with that.

yeah, that makes two games the Boys blew in the forth.
Question, I took the Cowboys Def/ST mostly based on their sack performance from last year (not that they are living up to it this year) but I don't see a category for it now. Are we not counting sacks in our scoring system?

I tend to agree with not making retcons. However thus far I have seen nothing from ESPN that recommends them over Yahoo, other than the live tracking being free. This isn't the first time I've had issues with their member system. With the plethora of hosts, I'd advise trying out CBS.com, NFL.com, etc.

Didnt we have other issues with Yahoo? I swear there were complaints of it freezing up or unable to make changes during the season because it was acting funny....
If I squeek out a win, I'll be happy. My opponent so far has alot of major points on teh bench....

NFL.com is, or at least was when we tried it, pure shit. Yahoo isn't bad but it isn't good either. I find most of what espn has going on to be several steps above yahoo myself.

Aside from minor issues of only being able to log on a fraction of the time I did like the first one I used

I haven't used NFL.com, I was just throwing it out there.
I find ESPN's site in general to be clunky though. I don't see it as any better, (or if Sunday was an isolated incident) worse than yahoo. I was just thinking that there has to be something better.

I've heard bad things about CBS Sportsline in terms of availability on game day, so I don't know it would be a better solution. I think we're in the regime of "getting what you pay for" in terms of league hosting. There are sites out there that work very well, even on game day, but they cost money, typically in the $50-75 range per league per season.
I think the most important thing is for people to remember that they need to check their teams out friday night or saturday night. Waiting till game time is probably a *bad* idea. As long as we're running free that's probabbly going to be a persistent issue.

Which is great..except that "game time decisions" for questionable players is a common ploy now. So I set my "worst can scenario" lineup, (that is, at least I know people will play), and bench better players, believing that when I know they are playing, I can move them back.
I'd be willing to kick $10 a year into a stable, reliable host.

I would to. and we should totally look into that. I'd even subsidize it for others to help. But that'll be for next year. (and yeah it sucks.)

Oh, absolutely. At the end of the day, (or a guess even at noon), I have far bigger worries than Fantasy Football, and not being able to sub in Smith neither picks my pocket nor breaks my arm.
I'm just getting old and crotchety, and more willing to pay for little convienences.

Liek I said earlier, I work every sunday from midmorning till evening, so i I HAVE to have my team settled the night before. Once its bite me in teh ass, but I dont have the luxury of making decisions from noon to 6pm before each game....
