Here's how it works. You pick 1 winner each week against the spread. (Spread taken from the MGM / Mirage sportsbook as reported on vegas.com.)

If you are correct in your pick, you move on to the next week. If not, you're out. Depending how many people start, we may get 2 or 3 runs each season.

Good luck all.

For those unfamiliar with point spreads. A positive number next to the team means that they are the underdog, they are getting however many points for the purpose of the bet. So in this case, if Pittsburgh beats Tennessee by less than 6 points, people who bet on Tennessee would win.

Also, any game that is a push, (the difference matches the point spread exactly), will be considered a win for this pool.

i have a feeling that rivers, et al, will make oakland look positively stupid.

Yeah, but I try to avoid big spreads early in the season. Teams can still have trouble getting into 5th gear, and still make dumb mistakes.

well, you've got experience with this sort of thing, whereas i don't. perhaps it'll prove a learning experience for me. now that i've already voted, i can't exactly backpedal on that... :>

Urghle!

Urge... to... make... inappropriate... joke... nearly... overpowering...

What... It's not like he actually has to move to do it... :sawink2:

I've got a nice spread myself in that regard. :sacool:
