I have no meaningful comment, except to say that I am not surprised. (http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/2007/02/classic_manny_1.html)
(The things I find when surfing, which I'm doing at the office waiting for the architectural plotters to warm up.)

Every time Manny's name comes up in the rumor mill re: trades, there's always a Mariners' fan within earshot who moans about how the front office is screwing up by not acquiring him. There are many things--no, scratch that, there are hundreds of things--that the Seattle front office bungles, but acquiring head cases isn't one of them.
Well, it isn't anymore.
They did, after all, get C. Everett Kook, Headcase General (a/k/a Carl Everett).

I was in Cleveland when Manny was there. Loved and hated the guy
Awesome bat, defensive capabilities of a sieve, and sometimes he didnt seem to understand the whole baserunning concept

All this remains true, and he's become more of a flake off the field, too.
