Radio guy I listen to was correct. It was going to be a team that just kept quiet and didnt want the drama until the deal is done.
"He's an unbelievable athlete, both running the ball and throwing it," Reid said. "I'll think of something for him."
Uh duh. Just imagine the short yardage scenario with vick and westbrook split next to Mcnabb in a shotgun. That's just fucking not fair.

i always wondered how my giant would fare against vick. the one time was long enough ago that it isn't relevant. i'm looking forward to seeing this.

Yeah but coming to giant stadium will definately have him with an intereting reception from the fans....
Been thinking about this...
Philly is a west coast offense, which is Vick's best play style.
McNabb is injury prone.
Kolb is soft at the moment.
Contract is structured 1.5 this year, 5.? next year.
Vick can not play in the first six games.
What I think signing him about was for:
1. They have the best backup QB in the NLF for a QB who's only had one 16 game season in the last 4-5 years.
2. They have a terrifying weapon for situational plays.
3. If Vick is seen to do even remotely well they have the best trade bait in the NFL.
I see this going a couple of ways...
McNabb gets hurt and Vick plays saviour.
Vick gets 5-10 touches a game as a wildcat player.
(I see this happening no matter what once he can play.)
Vick is traded late in the season, or in the offseason, to a team with QB woes for draft picks.
I think the structure of Vick's contract and where he sits relative to Kolb and McNabb in Philly more or less screams that they don't plan on him being an Eagle next year.

well, remember that vick's been away from pro ball for 2 years now, and there's a question of whether he's in football condition or not. i'd be very surprised if he wasn't, mind, but the rust is gonna take some time to lose, don't you think?

Practice is one thing, but live game conditions are something else. QBs don't get to wear the red no-contact jersey in real games.

I will be very suprised if Vick is actually good enough to be the best back up in the league this year. He may, over the course of this contract, get back to 90 of where he was when he got put away.
He gave away his career years. Sitting for two years is a huge hurdle to overcome.

Normally I would agree with this reasoning but in Vick's case he's got a career completion percentage of ~55% and a career QB rating of ~78. What always made Vick dangerous was his ability to scramble and make big plays out of non-plays. He may have lost a step in prison but I do think he will be the best option at backup that any team could want. The other "backups" that come to mind are Lierhnert, Quinn, and Young and they're all on the same level except none of them have been as successful as Vick.
