Eli Manning is that awesome?
Eli Manning is that awesome?
4 straight playoff trips and a super bowl win and MVP award. He is indeed franchise QB material.

He's NFL awesome. He is not necessarily fantasy football awesome.

Ah, well, the year I drafted him (as a backup to Jon Kitna), he accomplished utterly nothing for me

that's a crazy amount of money. i honestly don't know what i think of that. the stats aren't there, no, but that's almost never been true for any giants QB ever: the stadium precludes it. but he does win some pretty important games, and that's what i care about: wins are the sole stat that matter to me as a fan.
if anyone's interested, the comments to the local giants beat reporter's blog (http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2009/08/ny_giants_on_the_verge_of_bloc.html#more) might be interesting reading. :>

The Giants are a running team and defensive team so I'm not sure if he really is worth almost $15 Million a year, but if that's what it takes to lock him up that's what it takes.

i'm reading the comments (http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/05/eli-manning-said-to-agree-to-6-year-extension/#respond) to the NYT article re: this and i'm positively stunned at the idiocy of two whole swaths of commenters:
1. "no one deserves [x] money!" communism much?
2. "his stats are terrible". obviously, these are people who don't know much about giants QBs.
