Introduction, Part 1 of 2:

Mr. Johnson returns to Jack's bedroom, his two female childer in tow. He goes over to where Tatiana and Bonnie are talking to the Tremere and says something to Bonnie, who then leaves the room. Tatiana leaves the Tremere when Mr. Johnson dismisses himself from their presence. He gestures with his head for Ramiel to join the other Toreador. This prompts Sabine to join the other Tremere and Camille to rejoin Uma et al.

A few minutes later, Dee Dee enters the room, having shed her cloak. The sword still hangs at her side. She calls out in a loud, clear voice:

"I, Dee Dee of clan Toreador, herald of Gwynnis, Sheriff of New Orleans, do announce the presence of Justicar Toreador."

After this pronouncement, Gwynnis enters the room and resumes her seat opposite the door. Dee Dee ungirds the sword she wears and presents it to Gwynnis, who removes it and lays it across her knees.

Bonnie then returns, and speaks in a similar declamatory voice:

"I, Bonnie of clan Toreador, Seneschal of New Orleans, do announce the presence of the Prince of New Orleans, Rebekka of clan Tremere."

Rebekka enters the room, and Anneke, evidently going unannounced, enters a few seconds after Rebekka and closes the door behind her. There she remains, with Dee Dee and Bonnie to either side of her. Rebekka approaches Gwynnis in silence and kneels before her. The Justicar rises after taking up the sword and looks down at the Rebekka. The room is absolutely silent immediately before Gwynnis speaks.

"Given the pressure that bears down upon the city, this shall be brief. As Voice of the Camarilla, I invest Praxis New Orleans unto you, Rebekka of clan Tremere." Gwynnis lays the flat of the sword blade on Rebekka's right shoulder.

"You are charged with upholding the Traditions in this city, and to defend them from those who would subvert or destroy them, be they from within the sect or without." After this, Gwynnis moves the blade to Rebekka's left shoulder.

"Your word shall be law within the Domain of New Orleans, if you affirm your commitment to discharge the duties of your office to the utmost of your abilities. Do you so affirm?"

"I do," Rebekka says. Gwynnis moves the blade to Rebekka's forehead after her reply.

"Then let all who come here acknowledge that you, Rebekka of clan Tremere, are now ruler of the Domain of New Orleans." Gwynnis removes the blade and hands it back to Dee Dee, and says "Please rise, and assume your seat."

Rebekka does as instructed, and takes the seat the Gwynnis used during the interview. The Justicar then bows before Rebekka and recites her lineage.

"As is the Tradition, I recite the lineage of Gwynnis, Toreador of the Fifth Generation:

"My name is Gwynnis. I am Toreador. My sire is Taliesin.

"My name is Taliesin. I am Toreador. My sire is Arikel.

"My name is Arikel. I am sire of the Toreador. My sire is Zillah.

"My name is Zillah. My sire is Caine.

"My name is Caine. I am he who sired all those of the blood. All Kindred are my childer.

"My name is Gwynnis, childe of Taliesin, childe of Arikel, childe of Zillah, childe of Caine. Recognize my lineage."

Introduction, Part 2 of 2:

After this recitation, Gwynnis moves directly behind the chair, and her childer come forward in turn and proclaim Gwynnis as their sire to Rebekka before returning to their positions across the room. After this Mr. Johnson comes forward, somewhat reluctantly, and announces his Generation of 8th, and that he his childe of Elliot Sinclair, childe of Anneke. Mr. Johnson's childer then proclaim him as their sire.

When the other New Orleans Kindred begin to line up for formal presentation, Gwynnis raises a forestalling hand and has everyone return to their previous places in the room. Rebekka speaks, but remains seated.

"We may stipulate for now that all others in this room are loyal subjects of the Camarilla. Given the likelihood of escalated conflict with the Sabbat, as my first act as Prince of New Orleans I name Anneke of clan Toreador as dux bellorum, or War Duke in English. She it will be who acts as field marshal in the case of any attempted Sabbat incursion. During the time of this appointment, she will also hold the Toreador seat on the Primogen Council of New Orleans."

Anneke then walks forward and takes her place immediately to the right of Rebekka, who speaks once more.

"In acknowledgment of the history of Toreador leadership in New Orleans, the positions of Seneschal and Sheriff will be held by Bonnie and Dee Dee of clan Toreador, respectively. Furthermore, Mr. Johnson will be Deputy Primogen to Anneke. His knowledge of and connections throughout the city will be of vital importance in any defense we might muster in the coming nights.

"It is also imperative that we establish as complete a political structure in the city as soon as possible. It is now Palm Sunday, and it is my intention to convene a War Cabinet meeting with a primogen council as fully staffed as can be managed on Good Friday, two nights before Gwynnis convenes the upcoming Conclave. To that end, for the remainder of the evening such leadership as is already in place will circulate amongst you as a first step in assessing the capabilities and resources arrayed on our side.

"I should hope this goes without saying, but for the sake of clarity I shall state it explicitly. Given the strife we will surely encounter, we shall be best served by unity of purpose. The nature of The Beast is such that it is extremely difficult for so large a gathering of our kind to keep from bickering. I implore all of you to channel your aggression against our common foe, one who is relentless, remorseless, and ruthless in pursuit of its goals."

With that Rebekka rises, and the elder Toreador begin to insinuate themselves into the various groups around the room. Bonnie goes to the Tremere, Anneke to the Toreador, and Dee Dee to the Brujah/Gangrel group, sword once again hanging from her side. Rebekka heads to the group around Jack's bed. Gwynnis surveys the situation for a moment, and then joins Bonnie with the Tremere.

((OOC -- The NPCs with you at Jack's bed are Rebekka and Sarah. Erich has returned to the group with the other Gangrel for now.))

When Rebekka reaches the bed, she looks at each member of the group there. Her face for the most part is impassive, although it's clear that she doesn't recognize François. Then she speaks to Jack.

"How is your recovery progressing?" she asks.

((OOC -- I'm ruling that Jack started at -14 HT, all aggravated damage, last night, and that he's been able to do a "double healing" on one of last night and tonight, so he is presently at -5 HT. This is one or two nights away from him being back on his feet.))

*Jack may respond as SD sees fit here, which response will occur before any Rebekka/Francois interaction.*

Rebekka then turns to Francois and says, "I do not believe we have been introduced."

"There is some suggestion that Miss Drake has the means somehow to hide her diabolist's veins in her aura. If she is seen without her veins, you should make every effort to bring her in alive, that we might learn about her technique. However, it is better for her to be destroyed rather than to have her escape capture. Nor will we ask anyone to go to Final Death to capture her. Does that answer your question?"

"Let us hope so," Rebekka says, "and you will have to become stronger yet. Your penance shall not be repealed, but that fact does not mean that you cannot receive help. Sarah will help you practice. She has over a decade and a half in working with magical fire, and has long since mastered herself to the point of being able to conjure fire when she wishes."

Sarah gives Jocelin a quick look with an expression that looks a bit like surprise on her face.

"I am also mindful that you did not give your Sire's name when you presented yourself to Prince Casimir. In fact, if my memory serves me well, Leo was the only one of the four from Dallas not of the Tremere who gave a partial lineage. Under normal circumstances, this would not matter very much, especially if you exhibit the appropriate characteristics of your clan."

Rebekka pauses here and looks to the group with Dee Dee. "Miss DuChamp, will you please join us for a moment," she says to Antoinette. The Caitiff looks to Uma, who in turn looks at Camille, who nods in the affirmative. At that, Uma gives Antoinette the thumbs-over signal. When Antoinette reaches your group, Rebekka begins to speak again.

"These are not normal circumstances," she says. "With a conclave looming before us, some will arrive to it who are very strong believers in lineage. It would be awkward to have word spread of numbers of Kindred who don't know the identity of their sire. We shall research the lineage of each Kindred here who does not know theirs. Does this describe any of you in this group?"

"My Lady Prince", Francois states calmly, but his tone is firm, "I came here this evening to present myself to your predicessor." Francois glances at Mr. Johnson. "When I arrived, I had but the most basic understanding of the situation of the city. As for having offered assistance, I merely spoke as one soldier to another, offering advice. I had come to your city on pressing matters of my own."

"That said, it is clear that the Camarilla's business here is far more pressing than my own. In incursion by the agents of the Sabat must be crushed beneath our heel. My life has been dedicated to the military and martial sciences. I pledge my sword to you, Prince Rebekka."

Francois scans the room and drops his voice.

I seek one who was formerly known as Comte d’ Rochette, for whom a bloodhunt was called in his native domain of Paris in the 17th century. It is with a sour taste on my tounge that I must call him Sire. I have confirmed with the Seneschal of Paris, Charles de Batz-Castelmore, that the hunt remains active.

It is my intent to feast on Rochette's heart's blood. My studies indicate that he arrived in New Orleans two decades ago, and so I follow.

I now humbly request your permission to pursue the traitor in your domain, as time permits.

Rebekka looks around the room at the various Toreador elders before replying in the same low voice.

"Permission granted, provisionally," she says. "Any conflict with the Sabbat must take precedence, and I grant that you have already demonstrated an understanding of this necessity. It may be the case, however, that we already pursue a common cause."

The Prince closes her eyes for a moment, deep in recollection, before looking once more at Anneke, and then Gwynnis.

"Rochette," she says, voice still low. "Rochette. I was there, in the courts of Paris, when Prince Villón called the Blood Hunt down upon him. I was but newly come to the city from Vienna, in the year after Cardinal Richelieu died. Newly Embraced as well, perhaps even greener then than Miss Danis is now. Do not look so surprised!" she says, "for each of us there are days when we were as infants amongst our kind.

"There was rebellion against the Kindred order, and murder attempted, but the perpetrators neither succeeded nor were apprehended -- a standoff. And there was another added to our ranks in the aftermath, beyond those who were Embraced by the renegade Count." Rebekka looks once again to Anneke, a mixture of fondness and regret in her face.

"So long ago that was, and yet, with the recent agitation in New Orleans, who can say whether or not he has had a hand in it. I did not take part in the hunt for him, for there was another whom I was tasked to help apprehend. Lucian was his name, whom those of you from Dallas may recognize, and who has seemingly allied himself with Miss Drake." Her jaw clenches for a moment before she continues.

"And now, it may well be true that she counts Comte d'Rochette among her allies. You may conduct your vendetta against him," Rebekka says to François, "within the guidelines I have laid down. I believe it will be prudent, however, to refrain from making a more public announcement, at least until he comes into the open. We might retain the element of surprise, if he is here, and if he is allied with those who would destroy us, by waiting."

An odd, meloncholy expression passes Francois' face at the revelation that Rebekka was in Paris at the time, and again at the mention of Richelieu's name. but he quickly resumes a neutral pose.

"Despite Dumas' protests otherwise, the Cardinal was a friend to me and my musketeers. It is sad that he is remembered so by history. In any event, I shall be guided by you, and pray that serendipity crosses our purposes."

"I never had the chance to meet Richelieu myself. He was quite ill by the time I arrived, in the final weeks of his life. His policy towards the House of Habsburg was ever one of antagonism and strife, and thus he was not well-loved in Vienna. Mazarin continued that policy for a short time, but we were able to present other challenges that made peace with Spain and Austria more attractive."

Rebekka looks around to Gwynnis again, and the continues.

"It does not surprise me that history and literature present a fractured picture of the Cardinal. If we have an idle hour somewhere in the coming days, perhaps Gwynnis will favor us with a few tales from her mortal life. She scarcely recognizes herself in the stories that come to us today.

"I must see to the other groups. Those of you who do not know the name of your Sire, please inform Sarah of this. She will be able to set matters in motion once she has this information. I will send the Sheriff to you shortly." Rebekka then leaves and goes to the group with Camille et al.

"Yeah, I bet," says Dee Dee. "Just remember to keep your cool whenever you do get that chance to turn the tables. 'Revenge is a dish best served cold,' and all.

"Now, I know that it might seem a bit much to get advice like this from a youngster. I'm pretty sure a few of you have been Kindred longer than I have, and maybe a lot longer. But given who my sire is, I've been in some pretty hot spots in my short unlife. I've seen it happen, more than once, even, where someone plans everything out really carefully and then pisses it all away, and all because they lost their cool just as they were about to reach the money shot.

"I'm the new Sheriff in town, as you all heard, and it's come to me that the likely pool of my deputies includes pretty much everyone here in this group, and hardly anyone else outside it, except maybe those with Camille and the Prince right now. I'm going to have to lean on those of you who either know the city better than I do, or have engaged these guys at least once. I've got no problem with that, but it'd be a damn shame if I have to put on the badge to discipline a deputy."

"Indeed madame, but accuracy is difficult, as I have not seen him in nearly four centuries, and then only very briefly."

"The Comte d' Rochette is a man of moderate height, perhaps an inch or two shorter than I. When I knew him he wore his hair shorter than fashionable, though it would be more stylish today, and he wore a beard. His eyes are as steel, and when he stares at you, even without using our gifts, it is difficult to look away."

I have learned over the years that he is a man of fashion and style, he craves respect as a starving dog craves a scrap of meat, and will adjust his fashion, style, and manner of speech as necessary to achieve it. He will have no allies, only those he works with. All are disposable to him.

Over the centuries he has used numerous aliases. He was known as Robert Michaels, Esq. when he arrived in New Orleans in the 1960's. He has also used Alexi Rosheneski for a time in the late 19th Century when he found himself in St. Petersburg.

Know this should you stand against him. Do not attack if you would not be willing to have all around you die in the attempt. In fleeing the Court after the blood hunt was declared in Paris, he set to flame an entire neighborhood of the lower city. Hundreds of innocents died so that he could make his escape."

"Hmm, that doesn't sound like any of our chief suspects involved in Arcadian's murder," says Dee Dee. "We can keep a lookout for someone matching that description all the same.

"And the point about being careful when you confront him applies to all the Sabbat," she says to everyone in the group. "Even in all-out war, we still try our best to uphold the Masquerade. The other guys don't care about it as much. I won't say 'at all,' because I think even the Sabbat understand the consequences if word spreads too far about Kindred existence, but they're definitely less fussy about it, and about their attitudes towards mortals.

"One thing we might have going for us -- there aren't that many graveyards where the dead are buried. Must be because of the swampy geography. That's where Sabbat like to make their new vamps, so that may limit the number of places where the main assault could begin. Of course, maybe they throw a change-up and go for a football field or golf course. What probably ends up happening is we keep a couple of the likeliest sites under constant surveillance, and then patrol a larger web of secondary sites, at least while things are still quiet.

"Anybody got any questions?"

"I apologize if I appear too bold, but we are not yet at the assignation of duty. From what I have heard this evening, our opponent has tactical advantages in observation and communication, if for no other reason than they know who they face, and we do not.

Whomever we put into place in each location, we first need to determine how we insert them without alerting our nemesis. We secondly must determine how to bring in sufficient support troops rapidly enough to respond to any confrontations that may arise. I would also suggest that we find a communications method more secure than something that can be purchased at your local S-Mart.

I would also question if this is truely the best course of action. It immediately places us in a defensive, reactionary position. I will reiterate a thought from earlier. We know, or at least strongly believe, that the Malkavian Justicar's sire will be the next target of our foe. Let them be summoned by one who know them." Fracois looks pointedly at Gwynnis. "There are clearly those here powerful enough to do so."

Let us dictate the terms of engagement. I always prefer to fight on a field of my choosing.
"We'll get Walsh's sire here as soon as we can. We've got to watch out for other avenues of attack in the meantime. You're right that we probably want to be careful about how we engage the enemy, but if we can catch them at making more troops and stop them, that would be a big help."

Then as she leaves, she'll say something to the effect of, "See you at the briefing." to François.

"I'm going to see what I can do about setting up a guard on the justi... Walsh's line"

And with that, Leo approaches Anneke. He waits for an appropriate moment to interject on any conversation she may be having: "Do you have any thoughts on a plan of action?"
Anneke is still speaking with Mr. Johnson et al. when Leo approaches. It sounds like they are talking about contacts within the NOPD, but the conversation also seems to be winding down. She draws Leo away from the group of Toredaor after he asks the question. ((OOC -- You head to about 10:00 using the clock mapping of the bedroom from before, where 12:00 is the chair and 3:00 Jack's bed.)) Gwynnis and Dee Dee join you shortly thereafter.

"I assume that Dee Dee has filled you in on the basics in terms of scouting the city for Sabbat activity," says Anneke.

"I have," replies Dee Dee. "The one called Francois also made mention of summoning Justicar Walsh's sire, who may be next in line to get hit."

"Agreed, that is a good idea," says Gwynnis. "Do you know who Walsh's sire is?" she asks Leo. "Can you give me any sort of description?"

"Regrettably, I only know his name: Sylvester Simms"
"Simms," says Anneke. "London?"

"That was my thought as well, although it has been some time," says Gwynnis. "Show me," she says to Anneke, and taps her face where eyeglasses would sit.

Anneke removes her shades, and Gwynnis focuses her eyes on those of her childe's. After a few seconds, she nods her head.

"We are thinking of the same individual. Should we summon him?"

"Obviously," says Dee Dee. "We need to coordinate our defenses, and he seems a likely target."

"Can we confirm that he is still in London?" asks Gwynnis.

"It would take time," says Anneke. "And if the answer is no, he would still have to be alerted to the threat. That won't be easy if we don't know where he is."

"It would lessen the pressure on New Orleans, however, if Miss Drake is one of the driving forces behind the previous assault on the city," replies Gwynnis.

"With all due respect, Sire, that's damn cold," says Dee Dee. "Drake has already demonstrated she'll cross the Atlantic in search of her target."

"Cold it may be," says Gwynnis, "but bringing him here likely sets into motion a renewed assault on New Orleans, perhaps doubled, or even redoubled, as compared to before. Is the continued existence of one Kindred worth the loss of an entire city?"

Dee Dee starts to answer again, but Gwynnis raises a finger and stop the reply short, and asks:

"What do you think we should do, Leolin?"

Leo reflects a moment. "My bias shows in my response, but Drake needs to pay for her sins. It'd be hard to see that plan through if she leaves New Orleans.... though if a war were waged here, many innocents would die at Sabbat hands..."

Leo hmmss, and his lungs wheeze like dying dogs: "We live forever, and she would eventually be found. No need to kill innocents because of personal vendettas... I agree with you, Gwynnis"

Gwynnis smiles and arches an eyebrow a trifle at Leo's use of her name, but says nothing. Anneke turns a green eye of flesh and blue eye of glass upon you for a moment, her face otherwise expressionless, then lowers her head and replaces her shades.

"He could be anywhere, Gwynnis," cries Dee Dee. "We can bring him here."

"I realize this, childe. There is no cause for you to raise your voice." Dee Dee's mouth clamps shut in a scowl at being addressed as a childe.

"If he remains in London, it would not be too difficult to surreptitiously alert him to the threat," says Anneke. "If not, the search for him would likely be more of a tip off than simply summoning him here."

"Then you think we should warn him?" asks Gwynnis.

"If we take the long view, I believe it sound strategy," answers Anneke. "There will come a day, I would guess, when Samantha will decide that there are easier routes to power than working her way up her lineage. As long as that is not the case, however, warning her quarry seems a prudent measure."

Gwynnis closes her eyes and makes a little "mm-hmm" sound in her throat. She thinks in silence for a bit, and then opens her eyes and says, "Rebekka, Tatiana, will you come here for a moment."

Tatiana arrives first, leaving what appears to be an idle conversation with the New Orleans Toreador. Rebekka is involved in a more businesslike interaction with Camille and Roman that takes several seconds to wrap up.

"What is Helena's condition?" Gwynnis asks of Tatiana once both women have arrived.

"Unresponsive," replies Tatiana. "What did you do to her, Justicar?"

"It suffices for now to say that I was... over-exuberant with her. She is willful, which makes for a good Prince, but a poor subject.

"Do you know if she was still on good terms with Queen Anne?" she asks of both Rebekka and Tatiana.

"She was, as far as I know," says Tatiana. Rebekka nods in affirmation.

"Are either of you in such good graces with her?"

"Not really," answers Rebekka, and Tatiana shakes her head no as well.

Gwynnis sighs and says, "I suppose we have no choice but to try to revive Helena. If it does not work, I shall contact Anne myself. It would be smoother if Helena were the one to do it.

"Tatiana, will you please have Bonnie gather all those who might have foreign contacts and bring them here. Then go to Helena again, and I will join you shortly."

When Tatiana leaves, Rebekka asks, "I am curious why you need to contact London so urgently, Justicar."

"We have need to locate Sylvester Simms, whom Leolin has identified as Arcadian's Sire."

"To warn him of Samantha, or to summon him?" asks Rebekka.

"What would be your choice?"

Rebekka thinks for a moment and then answers, "I believe the Sabbat are coming regardless of the location of Arcadian's Sire, Justicar. Leaving him at large will not forestall the attack. There were, after all, other New Orleans Kindred besides Samantha who were involved with the previous attack. Miss Drake will not be diverted until the battle here is resolved one way or the other, I would guess, and it would be helpful to have another elder on our side, one with enough at stake to conduct the most vigorous defense possible."

Gwynnis gives Rebekka an appraising look, and receives a serene gaze in return. Then the Justicar dips her head in acknowledgment of Rebekka's points.

"I am reminded once again why you have always claimed that she is the smart one, Anneke," Gwynnis says. Anneke smiles but says nothing to this. Rebekka inclines her head, and although her expression does not change, she positively radiates self-satisfaction. Dee Dee eyes Rebekka with renewed and strengthened respect.

"Still," continues Gwynnis, "it could be difficult to get him across the Atlantic. If his finances are poor, Presence will not work. And leaving him across the ocean might keep him safer in the near term. I suppose we shall have to deal with that whenever it arises."

Back to the PCs...

As Leo participates in the conversation with Gwynnis et al., Bonnie comes over to Jack's bed, Prince Strauss at her side, to bring François to the conversation on the other side of the room. Those three arrive just as Gwynnis makes her last point.

"We are about to implement a search for Sylvester Simms, whom Leolin here has identified as Arcadian's Sire. His last known location was London, but he may be anywhere in western Europe, and thus it behooves us to initiate as many discreet lines of inquiry that we can. There is also some difference of opinion as to whether we should summon him here, or merely warn him of the threat. What say you?" she asks Prince Strauss.

"If he is still in Europe, he would be best served with a mere warning," answers Strauss. "New Orleans would be better served with his presence in the city. Were it me, I would simply warn him."

"Very well," says Gwynnis. "Bonnie?"

"I would summon him without even attempting to warn him. Samantha has already demonstrated that the Atlantic does not daunt her. We limit the area we need to protect with Simms in New Orleans."

"If you would forgive the lack of an introduction," Gwynnis says to François, "what is your reading of the appropriate course of action?"

"Of course Justicar", Francois begins formally with a bow of his head. As it rises, he is more clearly Brujah than at any point in the night. His voice is crisp and sharp, the voice of a man who is used to having to direct his superiors into the right courses of action. There is no question in his voice, and the confidence of expeience exudes out of him.

"First, we must define our goal. As an Elder, one must assume that Simms has resources available to protect himself, and spending our resources to do so would be of no gain to us, and weakens us when circumstance demand we be strong.

That said, at this poing Ms. Drake has dictated the field of battle. If we continue to allow her to chose the time and place of any unpleasantenss, we will continue to fight under her terms. This is how armies lose wars.

We expect that Mr. Simms will be Samantha's next target. Through him, we have the opportunity to take the field, and make Samantha respond to us. We begin the battle from a position of strength, and with proper planning, can concievable end this war before it begins.

That is my assessment Justicar."

"Thank you," Gwynnis says once François is finished. Bonnie whispers something into the Justicar's ear, who then says, "Thank you, François," with a slight dip of her head. Gwynnis spends a few seconds in silent deliberation before speaking again.

"We shall have Simms come to New Orleans. I would prefer to warn him before giving him the summons, but speed is of the essence in this situation. It is now Monday morning. If we do not find Simms by sunrise Wednesday, I shall put out the summons for him before laying to rest for that day.

"Those of you in this group are for the most part either from Europe, or have contacts there. Bonnie will coordinate the search on the continent. I shall attempt to revive Prince Casimir, who is the best person for contacting London. If that does not work, I will contact Queen Anne myself.

"We should also not neglect the possibility that Simms is already stateside. As it is past sunrise in Europe, I would strongly encourage each of you to put forth whatever resources are available to you to determine whether Simms is already in the US. I do not believe it will make much difference whether calls to Europe happen now or in three to four hours from now.

"I must join Tatiana with Helena. I shall apprise her of this decision," says Gwynnis, and with that, she leaves the group.

Once Gwynnis has left, Bonnie begins coordinating the search efforts.

"We should take inventory first. I'm fairly certain Simms was not in DC when we passed through, but I shall check again with Prince Vitel. If one of you has a fast way to contact Pontifex Dorfman," she says to the two Tremere, "it wouldn't hurt to try him, either. Jürgen would probably be better for out-of-city contacts. Rebekka will have her hands full with New Orleans matters, including organizing any search efforts by the Kindred of this city."

"Very well," says Prince Strauss. "I can also attest that he has not presented himself in Dallas in all the time I have ruled there."

"He was not in Houston, either," says Rebekka. "Nor was he in either Munich or Vienna when I was last there."

"We should check again," says Bonnie. "I shall coordinate with François about France."

"I shall check with Amsterdam and Berlin," says Anneke. "I did not see him or hear word of him in L.A. I doubt he would be there."

"That's probably true," said Bonnie. "Will you also work with Leo to see if he can provide any information from his clan's network of agents?" Anneke looks at Leo and nods yes.

"I can't remember hearing of a Sylvester Simms in Chicago, but I can check with Annabelle to make sure. I wanted to have a briefing session tonight about preparation against a Sabbat attack," says Dee Dee.

"It will have to fit between the calls in the US and Europe," replies Bonnie. "We should not wait until local sunrise tomorrow wherever possible. If the requests for information go through human channels during the day in Europe, so be it. Follow-ups first thing tomorrow night across the Atlantic will be essential, of course."

Bonnie takes in a deep breath and lets it out slowly.

"Very well, we have much to do, and little time to do it." She whips out a cell phone for a moment. "It is now 12:30. Shall we reconvene at 2 with updates? You can have your briefing session after that," Bonnie says to Dee Dee. "You will have to end it early enough to give people time to make their calls to Europe before sunrise.

"My Prince, will you please announce our course of action, and dismiss the formal gathering?" Bonnie asks of Rebekka. For reply, Rebekka simply walks into the middle of the room and begins speaking.

"If I may have your attention," says Rebekka, "the Justicar has decided to send for the sire of Arcadian Walsh, one Sylvester Simms. I shall coordinate the search by those Kindred who reside in New Orleans, and the Seneschal will coordinate efforts of those who are from out of town. This meeting is in recess until 2 am, when we will assess the state of the search. Will those of you from New Orleans please attend me?"
