Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to get 21 points from a kicker.

Gotta love them Lions:th_dblthumb2:

As of halftime of Cowboys-Seahawks:

Wily Corn Trolls (9-3) - 41.6 (Witten)
Fighting Friars (6-6) - 4.5 (John Carlson)

Neanderthals (6-6) - 27.5

Fallen Angels (2-10) - 0.0

2nd helping skillets (6-6) - 7.0 (Folk)

I think the Trolls' "slump" is history at this point.

Tony Romo follows up LenDale White's 21.3-point outburst with 29.2 of his own for the Wookies. TO has a big second half for Tribbles, but falls 2 yards shy of the 100-yard bonus, which would have meant three more points for them. John Carlson does manage to top 100 yards with a 16-yard catch in the final two minutes to pull the Friars 3.5 points closer to the Trolls as the Cowboys-Seahawks game comes to a close:

Wily Corn Trolls (9-3) - 45.6 (Witten)
Fighting Friars (6-6) - 10.0 (John Carlson)

Neanderthals (6-6) - 27.5
Tribbles (6-6) - 12.5 (T. Owens)

Zohan's Posse (8-4) - 8.5 (Barber)
Trifecta Wookies (7-5) - 50.5 (Romo)

Demolition (5-7) - 21.0 (Bironas)
Fallen Angels (2-10) - 0.0

2nd helping skillets (6-6) - 12.0 (Folk)
SnakeBitten (5-7) - 0.0

Well, I have to admit I didn't see two first-quarter picks for Kurt Warner coming.

Donovan McNabb throws a pair of first-half TDs for Fallen Angels... to Demolition RB Brian Westbrook, who also ran in a TD for the first-half hat trick. Things have basically played out even between them so far.

Kurt Warner hooked up with Larry Fitzgerald for a 1-yard TD pass, good for 13 points for WCT, to salvage an otherwise desultory performance in the first half. The Cards are down 24-7 at halftime, so that means lots of passing for them in the second half, although Philly will be cognizant of that fact. Warner should get a bunch of yards and at least one more score, but might take a few sacks and/or turnovers in the process, and it might hurt his completion percentage to have to run a pass-heavy attack.

Here are the scores at halftime of Eagles-Cardinals:

Wily Corn Trolls (9-3) - 56.6 (Warner, Fitzgerald)
Fighting Friars (6-6) - 10.0

Neanderthals (6-6) - 27.5
Tribbles (6-6) - 12.5

Zohan's Posse (8-4) - 8.5
Trifecta Wookies (7-5) - 53.1 (Hightower)

Demolition (5-7) - 45.0 (Westbrook, Boldin)
Fallen Angels (2-10) - 20.8 (McNabb, Edge, Breaston)

2nd helping skillets (6-6) - 12.0
SnakeBitten (5-7) - 0.0

Here are the scores after all of today's games. I've put everyone who's played in all three games in parentheses:

Wily Corn Trolls (9-3) - 80.6 (Calvin Johnson, Chris Johnson, Witten, Warner, Fitzgerald)
Fighting Friars (6-6) - 10.0 (John Carlson)

Neanderthals (6-6) - 27.5 (Scaife, Tennessee D/ST)
Tribbles (6-6) - 12.5 (T. Owens)

Zohan's Posse (8-4) - 8.5 (Barber)
Trifecta Wookies (7-5) - 53.6 (LenDale, Romo, Hightower)

Demolition (5-7) - 60.3 (Bironas, Westbrook, Boldin)
Fallen Angels (2-10) - 47.9 (McNabb, Edge, Breaston)

2nd helping skillets (6-6) - 12.0 (Folk)
SnakeBitten (5-7) - 0.0

Westbrook and McNabb each accounted for 4 TDs tonight. The Angels did sneak a bit closer to Demolition with the help of a Steve Breaston TD catch from Kurt Warner.

The Warner-to-Fitzgerald hookup provided a bookend TD when Warner hit Fitzgerald for a 7-yard score in the 4th quarter. That's a really nice shot in the arm when the hookup actually hooks up once in a game, let alone twice.

I might be taking it in the ass this week.....sigh. Dallas went to the air instead of grinding it out on the ground and White got to play the lions.

On the plus side, my home town team is still has a perfect record of 0 - 12.

And to think after the last couple weeks of mediocre play combined with injuries I almost put Westbrook on the bench.

Welcome back Brian.

Barber also had to leave the game in the 3rd quarter, which certainly didn't help you. Tashard Choice did some nice work in the 4th quarter which normally would have gone to Barber.

The good news for you is early reports are that Barber has a dislocated pinkie toe that shouldn't hold him out for his game in ten days against Pitt.

SnakeBitten 59.70

Neanderthals 96.30
Tribbles 50.50

Trifecta Wookies 94.30

Fighting Friars 73.40
Wily Corn Trolls 117.60

Demolition 106.80
Fallen Angels 96.80

I need the freaking Minn Def to put up 9pts to win. How sad is it that my freaking kicker put up the highest point total of 12pts out of all my players?

What, did everyone just not put in any effort this week? SHoot themselves in nightclubs or something?

Scores after SNF listed below. Players going tomorrow night are in parentheses. Looks like the Minny D/ST did just enough to pull out a W for the Skillets:

Wily Corn Trolls (9-3) - 135.4 Final (Unofficial)
Fighting Friars (6-6) - 73.4

Neanderthals (6-6) - 96.3 (Slaton)
Tribbles (6-6) - 50.5 (Garrard, MJD, Scobee)

Zohan's Posse (8-4) - 64.5 (Andre Johnson)
Trifecta Wookies (7-5) - 94.3

Demolition (5-7) - 138.0 (K. Walter)
Fallen Angels (2-10) - 96.8

2nd helping skillets (6-6) - 63.0 Final (Unofficial)
SnakeBitten (5-7) - 59.7

The two teams trailing with live players tomorrow night have very remote yet not impossible comeback possibilities, although you'd have to lay pretty long odds to get any action on the trailing teams, I'd guess.

45 pts from 3 players all on the same team on MNF is difficult but now impossible. 2 TD's for Garrard and 2 TD's from MJD gets you 28 pts without any yardage. Given that MJD does catch TD passes that doesn't have to be 4 seperate TD's either. It's possible you could dig it out. Remote, but possible. Zohan has the longer odds by far.

Andre Johnson needs something crazy like 8-120-3 or 12-180-2 for the Posse to pull out the W. Johnson's pretty much unstoppable between the 20s but doesn't necessarily score that much. The danger lies in his taking a short pass to the house for a long score + the occasional red zone look that might turn into another score or two. It's a lot to ask of one guy, but I believe Boldin and Randy Moss each have a 30-pt. game to their credit this year, so it's not totally impossible.

I'd just like to point out that Cassel sucked balls and Cutler put up some pretty good numbers.

Geez, thanks.

Had I gone with my first instinct, I would have started Ryan who was playing the weakest pass D, and had damned good points.

Of course, with my luck at QB, had I started Cutler, he would have sucked balls today.

Ah. Oddly, while football itself holds no allure or appeal for me, I get really excited about following the Thunderdome FFL. You guys should *totally* merchanize. Heh heh heh... they should totally make a second-level simulation based on team-profits and such... :D :D :D

There's definately more drama with the scores and which players show up and which ones dont.....

The Jags managed to keep Johnson out of the end zone on both 2nd- and 3rd-and-goal, so he only has 12 points at halftime, and not 17.5 or 18. He's in the middle of a big game, but probably not big enough for the Posse to rally.

Here are the (unofficial) final scores, although they're pretty much the final scores since Skillets-SnakeBitten wasn't adjusted between yesterday and today:

Wily Corn Trolls (10-3) - 135.4
Fighting Friars (6-7) - 73.4

Neanderthals (7-6) - 121.4
Tribbles (6-7) - 71.7

Zohan's Posse (8-5) - 77.0
Trifecta Wookies (8-5) - 94.3

Demolition (6-7) - 140.0
Fallen Angels (2-11) - 96.8

2nd helping skillets (7-6) - 63.0
SnakeBitten (5-8) - 59.7

Playoff Implications
The Trolls clinch the #1 playoff seed.

The Posse will be either #2 or #3; if they win, they'll be #2 so long as they stay within about 70 points of the Wookies (assuming they win). They have too many points to be knocked out even if there are four 8-win teams at the end of the season. They could theoretically slip to #4, but the math is pretty improbable for that to happen.

The Wookies technically haven't clinched anything, but their lead in aggregate scoring over the Skillets (~ 93 points) is large enough that it would take an epic scoring week by the Skillets AND an epic bed-crapping by the Wookies for them to get knocked out of the playoffs. Neanderthals would also have to win in this scenario. A win vs. Fighting Friars and a Posse loss would garner the Wookies the #2 seed.

Neanderthals are up by about 85 points on the Skillets, so it's pretty much win and they're in for them, barring the aforementioned epic scoring week by the Skillets.

Skillets need to beat the Angels and have Demolition beat Neanderthals to make the playoffs.

Demolition needs to beat Neanderthals, have the Angels beat the Skillets, and score within about 84 points of the Friars point total next week (if they win) to make the playoffs.

The flip side of this is if Demolition beats Neanderthals, Angels beat the Skillets, AND the Friars win while outscoring Demolition by 84 points, then the Friars sneak into the playoffs.

Tribbles are drawing dead, given that they're about 210 points behind Demolition even though they have the same record. Also, if Demolition loses to Neanderthals, then there are at least four 8-win teams, so they're out that way, too.

Brother Brian
