You guys have someone hoovered every QB in the NFL except for the dregs. We're almost out of the Bye country. Does someone have a #2 QB they'd like to swap for hightower. If he's the new starter you have good odds of getting excellent value from him going forward. And I NEED a QB. (I'm not even going to look and see which of you 'tards snagged Orlovsky.)

It's tempting let me mull it over for a bit.

Not really looking for a QB, but willing to give up Matt Cassel. I'm in the market for a consistant TE.

if I'm giving up a top 5 player at his position I'd want something more than a #2 QB.

****, I just proposed a trade.

Matt Ryan is not unavailable. Whereas my current plan is to play Cutler/Ryan dependant on the D matchups for the week, he's going to be more expensive than Cassel, who's the third QB on the roster.

I'm in the market for a TE and someone to take over in the Flex role. (Ward's been too inconsistant to be an every week player for me.)

That's one way to look at it.

He's a top 5 player in a low scoring position. The best TE in the world isn't worth a solid starting QB.

Make me a counter offer. I'm not unreasonable, but my team has to be better off for the trade. I'm not running a charity either.

Well Hightower is the one that's on the market. But take a look here:
Hightower this season by week. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=11383)

Note that he is consistently getting goal line carries and scoring TD's. (Only 2 games without a TD this year.) Note that he is also now the starter so 20 carries/gm is going to be much closer to the average for him now. Those 2 things by themselves make him a safe bet to be 10pts/gm for the rest of the season when you consider the rest of his schedule... 2 games in Seattle, one game in San Francisco, and another game against St. Louis.

What I'm putting on the table in the form of Hightower is a solid #2 RB. That's the potential. The reality is that you're getting a solid 6-8 pts/wk from a flex option. The potential is that you're getting this year's Ryan Grant. (A stud RB in the late season.) The only reason he's on the market at all is that I've got other options I can live with and desperately need a QB. But I'll go get a garbage time guy if I can't get what he's worth and just put him to good use for myself.

The potential benefit from Cassel does not outweigh the loss of losing gates and what I'd have to replace gates with. First off they've got equivalent point totals on the season which, when comparing a QB to a TE, should not even vaugely be the case. Gates is a #1 TE and consistent week to week value. I expect more than a #3 QB with nothing to recommend him for that. (There are garbage time guys available that would have equivalent value.)

I don't mean to tamper here, but now that Hightower's the starter in Arizona, he seems like a lot to give up for a one-week fill-in at QB. Do you think Romo will be out in Week 11 or beyond? Everything I've read indicates he'll be back after the Cowboys' bye.

Yeah that's crossed my mind. It's part of why I'm being insistent on getting good value for him. If I don't get an offer that's good value I'll just have to eat another loss and hope that isn't the difference at the end. (Or hope for a whole lot more luck then I deserve.)

You know what ****, with Bush being sidelined for an additional couple weeks, and not knowing how he's going to be when he comes back...

Cassel for Hightower...straight up.

I'm waiting till after tonights game to make any decisions. The Duante Culpepper deal may mean that I don't make any trade at all. Culpepper or Thigpen are as viable of choices as anything on the table so far IMHO.

Tyler Thigpen, eh?
