Since the dawn of Betty Crocker, there has been a global debate on the delicious creation that is the brownie.

Yes, there are hundred of brownie combinations. You can have caramel, cheesecake, peanut butter, double chocolate chunk, tofee bits, coffee bits, etc.....but the debate centers around the original brownie and the most important question of all......whether or not to include nuts.

The question remains for you to answer.

yes. ideally, hazelnuts. but walnuts are always tasty, too. and i suspect i would really enjoy macadamia nuts although i've never had them in a brownie. hm...i need to do a taste test...

I love nuts ($20 says that will end up in a sig before day's end), but not in brownies. The cakey texture combined with crunchiness just doesn't do much for me.

Fudgy chocolate brownies are yummy.

With or without hash.

With or without pot.

With or without nuts.

I never met a homemade brownie that I didn't like.

Not fond of chocolate generally.

Maybe you should try blondies. They're sorta like butterscotch cake, very good with pecans.

I like nuts in my brownies or in my fudge.

But my wife doesn't like nuts.

Okay, I'm done.

I have decided to roam the beginning of this board... *muahahaha*

I will eat brownies with or without nuts, but I prefer my brownies like I prefer my ladies - nutless...

Last night I made internet brownies from this recipe (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Deep-Dish-Brownies/Detail.aspx?strb=1), but only used 2 eggs.

I thought they were really good. Next time, I'll try adding walnuts.

I thought I knew the answer to the question of whether or not zucchini belongs in brownies, but I was wrong.

This week, I made zucchini brownies (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Zucchini-Brownies/Detail.aspx), and they were just as yummy as any other brownie I ever made. Making them was an adventure that had me wondering if they would be edible at all. At one point, the mixture looked like spent coffee grounds, and the finished "batter" was really more like chocolate mortar. But the finished product suprised the hell out of me, and was gobbled up by husband, parents and coworkers (OK, those guys will eat anything). My tips for the linked recipe are to not pack the grated zucchini to measure it, use the salt to release moisture from the zucchini and then process it, and use twice the walnuts they recommend.

I've had zucchini in dessert. Zucchini bread (akin to banana bread) or in muffins.

They were just as good.

I do not really eat chocolate or other sweets, except maybe some ice cream once in a blue moon. I do like making it though. Favorite recipe for brownies is a cheesecake brownie recipe I got from a local cheese-making factory.

I hate nuts in brownies or cinnamon rolls, and raisins in the latter.

But I do like nuts.

I kept a completely straight face as I read that.
