Seth has made an interesting allegation in an interview: promoters paid him extra to agree not to take Slice to the ground and out-grapple him, but rather to stand and trade punches, to Kimbo's presumed advantage.
Of course, he won anyway, but that's damn close to a fight-rig, don't you think?

The ElitXC response contained in this story (http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news;_ylt=Aswq4aAPRR7n0B18qw0IaGJYEo14?slug=ys-mmaweek100708&prov=yhoo&type=lgns) denies Petruzelli's allegations.

Gary Shaw is a second rate boxing promoter, and a 4th rate MMA promoter. If it wasn't for the fact that the UFC was days away from signing with HBO, Showtime wouldn't have given Shaw the time of day.
As it is, Showtime/CBS has to keep making loans to Elite to keep them making payroll. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Petricelli was told to keep the fight exciting, nudge, nudge, wink wink.

Looks like the story was true.
I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm not.

So your management paid the guy to play to your strengths, and you STILL got owned?
Stick a fork in Kimbo. He's done.

So is Elite XC for that matter.
Closed, bankrupt, and done.
Took some good small orgs with them.
Pricks.
