The strange object only hovered for a few minutes, but during this time, a beam of reddish light engulfed Tawnya for what seemed like an eternity to her. She could feel the beam of light searing at her skin. Her body was wracked with pain. It felt like every part of her body was on fire.

Suddenly, the strange object and its piercing beam was gone leaving Tawnya prone on the ground. Her skin was covered in many burns but to her surprise it didn’t hurt and the wounds quickly healed in no time leaving only a strange reddish v-shaped scar on her shoulders. She found she was physically stronger and more durable than before.

These days, Tawnya pursues a life of adventure as Chevron.

I like both characters. I'm not familiar with the images. Did you draw them?

Omuraisu
10-04-2008, 10:40 AM
I created them but I didn't draw them. I used a heromachine-like userface that is set up with the Bruce Timm look. Cool stuff especially considering I'm so sick of Heromachine (but I love that Bruce Timm look). I also tweaked the images in Photoshop to get them closer to the idea I had in my head.

The site is called Fábrica de Heróis (http://fabricadeherois.blogspot.com/) and it is in Portuguese but with a bit of experimenting you can figure out what's what. I'm still exploring the options. To access the program, click on the button (in middle of screen) labeled 'Criar'. The last two character options (Prodigio & Mirim) don't seem to be available yet.

There's a gallery of DC & Marvel characters here:

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Origin and Background: (Italian-American) The Carpino Family have been acrobatic, flying trapeze, and high wire artists for the Graziano di Cosimo Circus for generations. They have entertained and amused countless of generations of children and adults with their amazing feats of strength and agility.

David Carpino was the blacksheep of the family. When he was born, he had a light coating of fur and pronounced fangs and claws. He had a natural affinity with the wild animals of the circus and he spent his time taking care of them. His hot temper often got him into trouble with the others who worked at the circus, including his own family.

David fell in love with a stunning flying trapeze artist, named Sascha Markidis, but life would not be fair to either of them. She was in love with David's brother, Henry. She feared David and didn’t want anything to do with him. In a fit of rage, David lashed out at Sascha and killed her with his claws. This was his first taste of human blood and he liked it. He proceeded to track his brother down and kill him as well. By the time he finished with his blood frenzy, his three brothers and father were dead.

Wanted by the Police for the murder, David left his life of the circus to take up a life of crime. He is a dangerous killer who has no morals and will do anything that he desires – no matter the consequences.

Inventing (51%):

Knowledge Areas: USAF Pilot, turned USAF Spec Ops (Military)
Origin and Background: (American) Colonel Turner ‘Turbine’ Byron Harrington was destined for glory as the son and grandson of famous aviators of the 20th century. Once removed from Chuck Yeager and a son of Col. Harrington a highly decorated Vietnam-era vet, Turner Harrington was every inch the officer and pilot his family dreamed of. Having completed four successful tours of duty in Desert Storm and Desert Shield, (being 19 in 1991 and 30 in 2002), he had a promising career and a new fiance’ (his first wife leaving him in 1996 after a painful divorce). He was stateside when the F-22 he was training in lost its left wing in a freak “structural failure” accident.

To this day, no explanation has been found. He was on his landing approach when it happened, and he hit the desert floor 200 yards shy of the runway at over 300 knots. He lost both legs and both arms. His spine was broken in two places and his left lung was punctured. His heart stopped beating for 10 minutes on the operating table.

How he survived is considered by all the attending physicians a miracle in itself. He has been listed in medical journals in worldwide and much of what was done to save his life was experimental.

Unable to cope with the news, his fiance’ left and one year later, after being released from the hospital and given full discharge, he left all his family and relatives in Virginia to live in Chicago’s south side. Deep in despair and self-pity, Turner sought to drown his pain in alcohol. One night as he was wheeling out of bar, two thugs attacked him for his pension check he had cashed. A young boy intervened, whacking them both with a crowbar and saving his life (see Crow, following).

The following day, he was contacted for a “special veteran’s mobility project” that would enable him to “serve in combat and other areas as needed. Clearance: Above Top Secret.” He made a phone call and cussed out his former C.O. for the gag.

“No gag, Turner. You want in, you are in. But you can’t go home again. We become your life. Unless you enjoy what you are doing there in government housing, I suggest you take us up on it.”

Turner agreed, but demanded special consideration for “Crowbar” or “Crow” as he now called him. Seeing the gangs and life the boy was heading towards, he had him made his personal assistant for maintenance and other assistance for his bionic limbs. The General agreed, and with his aptitude for math, it is expected that one day “Crow” himself will join the Air Force officially as an officer.

Now, Col. Harrington goes wherever he is needed worldwide to fight terrorism on the ground or in the air as Turbohawk.

Tactics:
Turbohawk gets a good distance from his target, uses his Heightened Senses to spot them and then flies by or runs up on them at full speed. GM may easily treat this as a surprise attack and should add his Movement Speed to attacks (see rulebook, pg 26), adding +4d10 on running attacks and +5d10 on flying attacks, first attack ONLY.

If the defender makes a successful Detect Danger, and has an action, he or she can attempt to strike Turbohawk and do THAT damage to him. However, since he is using his wings in a "snapped back" position, he may use them as Invulnerability if HE makes a Detect Danger and Agility save in response! (He does have supersonic flight training and reflexes).

Obviously, he is very dangerous, and his bionic arms can still do quite a bit of damage in face-to-face HtoH.

I really like this character. Potent without being munchkinish, built-in role-play opportunities (his sense of honor), all in all pretty cool.

4. Natural Weaponry Special: His to hit and damage modifiers also apply when he is using his Naganata spear (see weapon listing below).

I like this bonus ability. I've used it with several martial arts characters in my campaign universe as well (well, not with a naganata specifically, but with their weapon of choice).

Mind you, I'd also like to get a copy of the City of Heroes/Villains builder as a separate download. That's the fashion designer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Gunn)coming out in you man.

Its Bruce TIMM's artwork style. ;)

And I must say I thought it too simple at first - then I got to like it and I became a fan because Timm used the sparse lines like Miller did - to focus on the story and dialogue.

So now when I see it, I think good thoughts. But that's appreciation by association, I admit.

Thanks BFM. This character is a mix of traditional Yakuza and modern day Yakuza concepts. I recently saw a fascinating documentary about modern day life in the Yakuza that help inspired this character (with a supers touch of course) - unfortunately I can't remember the name of the film.

That's a trick that I have used on several occasions. I was going to give him a special needle strike attack but I decided against it in the end. BTW, 'Irezumi' is the name given to the tattoo work that Yakuza get done. ;)

Gotta keep up that pattern! We are counting on you to keep up our image and make us proud!!!!!

the proper brooding stance includes he ability to post while concealing activities from others. it's all in the costume design, all in the costume design.

Enjoy!

That is very sweeeeet!

I hope they do one in English, but I have got to applaud your PCs and their design. Wow.

Just in time for Christmas! ;)

there is an option to change the language to english in the top middle of the screen.

That is a new addition - wonderful! Thanks, Hidufel!

Thanks for the links, The Dead Guy. I've been working on some new villains while using the Fabrica site to illustrate them. Eventually I will get around to putting the characters on my V&V site (once I find time to finish the background write-ups).

Cheers,
Tim

I don't have the character write-ups ready (yet) but I thought I would post some of the characters from my new villain team...
