For those that haven't taken a peek at it yet, the Iron Man DVD (the 2 disc one with special features) has a neat 45 minute long show about the history of the character (his comic origins and history).
I think Justice especially would really like this retrospective, and when they get to the current-day section (titled "Extremis and Beyond") they do an interview with Patrick Zircher (who did tons of V&V, and plenty of Champions art as well). They talk with him a bunch, show lots of his art, and even have his 8 year old daughter come out and show a picture of Iron Man that she drew.
Any other Patrick Zircher fans out there (he probably did more V&V markers than any other artist) would likely enjoy this feature.

Now that's cool. I'm going out and buying it tomorrow.. then I'll watch it again. So I can remind myself what I had decided for my boys to see it or not. They are young and not exactly ready for some scenes.
Worse case scenario, I'll pull them out in a few years when they are older and have better coping mechanisms.

Thanks Majestic! That is tres cool - I did not realize Patrick Zircher was working on Iron Man. Wow!
(We'll do an armor upgrade for your avatar later... ;) )

That's cool. I ended up going the cheap route (saving $10) and picking up the 1 disc edition.

Uhmmm.... I have 4600+ monkey markers plus 1000+ supers, normals and vehicle markers i have hand made in B&W. Admittedly not up to professional standards but not bad for stuff done with no correction and generally while riding along in a car.
can he beat that?

Yes, I too have made/drawn a few hundred markers of my own. But cool as ours may be, we never got ours printed and professionally published.
So I was meaning "official" markers for V&V.

Yeah, it has a bit in the way of deleted scenes, mostly extended scenes (like when Tony and Rhodey are partying with the stewardesses on the plane). Nothing really spectacular, but one cool feature (that I thought was kind of neat) was that each deleted and extended scene has a digital printout on the top and bottom (in the black places where letterbox format blacks out the screen) and in the upper right it shows the filming date. Most of it was in April of 2007, but if you watch it you will see dates in late March and even into late June. It kind of gives you an idea of the movie-making process, and you can picture where they would have gone back a few months later and added in bits.

I was noticing that too! Also the fact that RDJ was putting on weight again - and they shot those scenes in Las Vegas - so it looked right for the character's transformation from hedonist to survivor.
I was impressed with Jon Favreau's on-time, under-budget direction that still kept everything creative and open.
I think I would have liked that slightly extended scene of Obadiah trying to grab Tony's arm before falling into the Arc Reactor. It was a little too pat in the theatrical, and we needed another show of their closeness and even Obadiah's recognition of his dependence on Tony.
Four HOURS of extras. Man - that was informative.
