I'm seriously bummed that the Tennessee-Minnesota game isn't being televised in my area.

I did some last-minute waiver wire work for the Skillets, as per the PM that Parz and I received earlier this week. Damon Huard is now a proud member of the Skillets!

Holy shit!! That was a pretty serious swing for the WCT -- is that common?
It's not common, but it's not unheard of. My club got a bunch TDs in the second halves of the early games. In fact, the score update even missed one by Chris Johnson just before the end of the Titans-Vikings game.

TDs are the big-ticket scoring items and they tend to be randomly distributed in time throughout the games, so you can occasionally see a big spike in scoring.

245 pm update, halftime of Cowboys-Redskins:

Wily Corn Trolls - 82.7 (Pitt D/ST)
Fighting Friars - 44.6 (H. Ward)

Neanderthals - 90.5 (Heap)
Tribbles - 53.3 (Heath Miller, Akers)

Zohan's Posse - 103.7 (Chicago D/ST)
Trifecta Wookies - 84.6

Demolition - 86.9 (Philly D/ST)
Fallen Angels - 52.9 (McNabb)

2nd helping skillets - 70.5
SnakeBitten - 26.2 (DeSean Jackson, Forte, McGahee)

Those extra 8.6 points for WCT between the last update and this one were from the end of the early games, because San Diego (and hence Kaeding) is getting shut out right now.

I think LT just dropped a TD reception in the flat. Would have been close. But, now Kaeding has scored.

Here are the scores heading into tonight's Philly-Chicago game:

Wily Corn Trolls - 91.7 (Pitt D/ST)
Fighting Friars - 44.6 (H. Ward)

Neanderthals - 99.3 (Heap)
Tribbles - 74.9 (Heath Miller, Akers)

Zohan's Posse - 105.0 (Chicago D/ST)
Trifecta Wookies - 118.3

Demolition - 99.8 (Philly D/ST)
Fallen Angels - 57.9 (McNabb)

2nd helping skillets - 83.1
SnakeBitten - 66.8 (DeSean Jackson, Forte, McGahee)

The Wookies-Posse game is pretty much a toss-up at this point. I think SnakeBitten will end up rallying vs. the Skillets, too, although it's not a mortal lock. Tomlinson did a lot of 4th quarter damage for SnakeBitten. In fact, LT and AP finally looked like what the top two picks in fantasy draft should look like this week.

Do total points count, or is it games won only?

Total points for who wins that week.

Total points is the tiebreaker in the event that two or more teams finish with the same record. So, kind of.

I'm going to give Chim the benefit of the doubt that he understands how head-to-head scoring works. :p

The Chicago D/ST ticker is at 6.0 points (7 points allowed, 1 sack, 20-39 return yards) as of Hester's return after the McNabb-Jackson TD pass.

They've crept up to 7 points as of Hester's return after Buckhalter's TD run (14 points allowed, 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 54 return yards).

The return to open the second half brings Chicago D/ST up to 9 points. I'm on pins and needles!

EDIT -- That tackle by Buckhalter keeps the Wookies in the lead by 2.3 points!

Not necessarily. An extra FG would have lost Chicago 1 point, but they also would have gotten another kickoff return. The Bears had 139 return yards, so as long as there was a return with any yardage at all, Chicago's ultimate tally would have remained the same. If everything else played out the same way, that is, an important and speculative caveat. A FG + a touchback on the ensuing kickoff would have been enough for you. A Buckhalter TD on the possession where he got stuffed at the goal line + a touchback also would have worked.

Yahoo reports no overnight scoring adjustments. However, things really don't become official until early Tuesday morning.

Damn... So, what're the standings so far?
Most likely there is going to be a four-way tie atop the standings at 3-1 between WCT, Fighting Friars, Neanderthals, and SnakeBitten (Pauly's buddy AdamG42). WCT would be the #1 seed if the regular season were to end tonight as long as the Pittsburgh D/ST stays within 14 points of Hines Ward in tonight's game. Demolition (2-2) will be the top scoring team through 4 weeks unless the Pitt D/ST drops like 30 points tonight, which can happen, but is unlikely.

I'll post a screen cap when the standings officially update.

Unofficial results, with MNF in the books:

Wily Corn Trolls - 109.7
Fighting Friars - 47.6

Neanderthals - 99.3
Tribbles - 83.9

Zohan's Posse - 119.0
Trifecta Wookies - 118.3

Demolition - 117.8
Fallen Angels - 68.6

2nd helping skillets - 83.1
SnakeBitten - 91.7

The Friars were the team to have one of those weeks this week. Fallen Angels could have made a strong run (although I think they still come up a touch short) had they inserted Greg Jennings and Larry Johnson in their lineup, but they did not. We do have the four-way tie at 3-1 atop the league standings, pending the Posse-Wookies game becoming official, but Demolition and Wookies have strong 2-2 entries should any of the leaders falter as we traverse the bye weeks.

I go from 3 consecutive 100+ point weeks to...

47.6.

Hell, in week 2 Cutler almost scored that many on his own!

Houston...HOUSTON becomes the 2000 Rams for a week, and lights up the Jax D.

I said I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, but DAMN!
