What do you like to do with your friendly slow cooker?

My favorite slow cooker recipe
Cans of condensed cream of mushroom soup (WalMart or HEB House brand works fine)
Chicken (preferably boneless chicken thighs, but also works with chicken leg quarters just is more effort to eat. But, the first costs like $2/lb while latter costs oft like 29cents a pound)
Garlic powder
Salt
Pepper
Milk

Fill slow cooker with mix of chicken and soup until slow cooker is full, add a slight splash of milk and goodly amounts of garlic powder, salt and pepper

Cook for a very long time on low heat

Tasty recipe, and given a proper sized slow cooker can feed you for a week!

Also cool is some new slow cookers have it where the bowl part comes right out, making putting the leftovers in the fridge a snap

I'm not much of a slow-cooker advocate, mainly because it feels so uninvolved, but my wife does make a few things in it that aren't half bad. My favorite of them is probably chili. She puts it on at the crack of dawn and just lets it simmer in there all day--not something that's as easy to do on a conventional stovetop.

Honestly, I use my slow cooker more for herbal preparations than food. :D

But I have some awesome recipes for a slow cooker if you'd like. Once I excavate them from the boxes.

I don't have any slow cooker staples. I've used it for stews and roasts before. When I want to use it I usually just look something up.

Regrettably, I have a crappy slow-cooker, so I haven't experimented with it much.

That, and I can't make myself leave it unattended.

My wife wanted to make lunches with this. So we bought one. Never really used.

So it's something I'd like to try.

I made some chicken gumbo yesterday using a slow cooker. I just took the recipe from the Joy of Cooking cook book and modified it a bit. It came out pretty good.

I own a slow cooker and a couple slow cooker cookbooks, but my problem is proportion. As a general rule, I can't stand leftovers, so for me eating something two nights in a row is a stretch and slow cookers don't work well for one person.
