I just have to declare my respect and admiration for this latest incarnation of Spidey.
Here's a small sample on YouTube:

Anyone else like it?
Or seen it?

Symbiote costume, Tombstone, and moral questions....

Woh, now there's a Spider-Man cartoon for the older kids.
Finally!
After being "marveled" by the Warner Bros version of the DC Universe for 15+ years, Marvel Comics were always lacking in more than one way. Marvel may have had some nice looking CG images, but the classic story lines were kidified even more and the pacing was usually horrible (way too fast).
The only disturbing thing is that Aunt May sort of looks hot.

I think the Angsty young man was overplayed. (and has been since '97 IMHO) "How dare you offer support and friendship to me in my time of Grief!" made Petey look more like the jerk than the guy to root for. Not necessarily lethal to the series, but not that good either.

He was under the influence of a symbiote that feeds off of strong emotions, like anger.

Yeah -what Mouser said. Maybe not the best sample of how his character is portrayed.
But the intro, action and mess of villains struck true to me. I thought there was a good blend of the different Spiderman franchises and FAR from dead-looking Marvel character glop that happened in the 90's.

None of which alters the fact that this is a poor introduction of the character.

Much better than the angst crap. The artwork looks somewhat like the Teen Titans and Legion shows. Anime has MUCH to answer for.

The best animation I ever saw previously for Spidey was Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. However, they could NOT generate the fight scenes, multiple settings and flow of this series. I THINK there is a CGI 3D base that is being "flattened" to aid the animation - the buildings and such cannot be hand drawn.
So I see a bit of a trade-off, and one I agree with aesthetically IF they keep the angst driven, poor boy caring for a widow characterization.
I do think Aunt May looks a little too hip for my tastes - but women in their 60s these days were in their 20s in the late 60s, so we can expect a "more hip" elderly woman.
The only disturbing thing is that Aunt May sort of looks hot.
It is funny how as we get older we do say "She doesn't look so old... in fact... *ahem*" she's sort of attractive in an elegant way..."
:D
Now this is starting to remind me of that Wilma vs. Betty discussion on Red Dwarf. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fCoYT3nM-M)
