As long as we're posting characters aka Ape, here's one I cooked up a while back. A time displaced hero, with a 1962 peak of the Silver age, Garndern Fox and Stan Lee with pistons hitting like sledge hammers set of sensibilities now dealing with the now and the here.

(The actual nature of her Sig Gear is left to whomever uses this character.)
In 1962, Washington DC was under attack from a group of Supervillains. The Red Peril unleashed the mytical monster Photonix from the ancient runestone mosaic that bound it, and directed it to destroy the White House. Only a bullet proofed athletic heroine, Nightstrike was available to protect the Presidential Mansion.

Nightstrike might have been outmatched, but never undaunted, the heroine leapt onto the back of the flying ice Gremlin and forced him to fly her above Photonix. Drawing both her lash guns she fired and snagged one lash to one of the runestones holding the Photonic body to the mortal plane and another to the steel posts of the White House Fence. She literally forced Photnix into a groundward arc. At the same time, her lash caught the intense heat of Photonix's body.

The super alloy of her lashes took the heat fairly well and an interesting thing happened. The Runestone was magically protected
from Photonix's temperature. Not from other heat sources. In direct contact with the alloy of that lash, the stone cracked. The magic holding Photonix ended. It expanded it's size from about 25 feet in diameter to nearly 200 and vanished.

Nightstrike was within the expanded Photonix and there was no sign of her after it disappeared. Given the molten state of the ground where this happened, it was a pretty obvious conclusion to say she'd been vaporized.

Not quite. She found herself in another existence, a place where the laws of light ruled. There was a local tyrant and folk in danger. Took her a good day and a half to overthrow the bum and then another couple of years to find a way home.

She also picked up some nifty light based powers. And sound based. She could speak, very few of the folks there could use sound. As it's innate magic adjusted her body, her ability to produce sounds was also affected.

The problem was that it was no longer 1962 when she finally got back home. Try 2008. And she figured she'd been there maybe two years subjective time. She found some old, now very old, friends and managed to have a Federal Witness Protection Identity provided to her, without the Federal Witness Protection Program even being aware of it. She's spent the last couple of years catching up on the modern world, though at times it really seems weird to her. And she's taken up the mantle of superheroing again. This time under the code name "Solara".

I can't really offer too much feedback on this character since I don't know the system it was created for (is that Champions? GURPS?) but I did want to say the idea of evil organization called A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. is just too cool.

It's GURPS 4th edition.

Thanks for the clarification.

I forgot to mention: I don't know exactly what Lash Guns are, but they sound pretty cool.

One advantage to being 'background' material. I don't have to specify what they are. But in general think like a 1960s comic book editor. You can't show a heroine wih whips, they fall between openly kinky and evil, both of which the Comics Code Authority frowns on.

But a gun that shoots a whip like attack that's used to swing building to builing. That is a NON-LETHAL gun, a positive from said Code Authority. ;)

Top of my head write up: 20 yards ultra light/strong alloy does a whip attack, usually on the guns held by thugs, a binding attack, and allows her to swing across the city.
