This is a pic of a bird I helped rescue last night. I nearly ran over it (it looked like a pile of snow at 65mph). When I turned around to get a closer look , I noticed it was hobbling and didn't try to fly. I got a little closer and saw that it was obviously hurt. I stayed with it for about thrity minutes while one lady called two animal rescue organizations (neither one was helpful....apparently animals only need be rescued from nine to five). Then after another gentleman got a hold of the Game and Wildlife (they were happy to help), he took over the watch.

Is that a pelican?
I hope they can rehabilitate it.

Yes, animal recidivism is so sad...Maybe it's not guilty by reason of insanity?

How did you end up preparing it?
Was there a side dish?
What wine did you serve?
HK is like 800 miles form the nearest body of water that isn't pond sized. I doubt very much that it was a pelican. More likely a crane of some sort.

Pelican, crane, whatever! Does it really matter when you live in BFE?
I live very close to the river and see cranes all the time, but this thing was short and much bigger.

I live by the ocean where you see pelicans all the time and it certainly looked like a pelican in the photo.

I saw pelicans near Denver once, in a pond.

Yes, happykat, it DOES matter if a pelican is walking down the road in YOUR neck of the woods.
Well done, BTW.
