i've been working, off and on, on a new d20 star wars variant. i knew what i was doing w/ the force, how i was gonna fix the classes, etc.

and now, the bastards went ahead and did (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwars/article/sw20061214jc100) the same gorrammed things i was gonna do!

the umitigated gall of a company broadening their revenue stream by leveraging their own intellectual property. the bastards!

[grumble]

Although it sucks that you seem to have wasted a bunch of time reinventing the wheel, so to speak, I'm glad to see a revised version of the game is finally coming out.

Now to work on your "Serenity d20" game.

there's already a firefly game out using the decipher engine, which isn't all that different from the d20 ruleset.

The new rulebook includes Episode III content and places greater emphasis on the use of Star Wars miniatures and battle maps.

At 288 pages, the Saga Edition rulebook is slimmer than previous editions, thanks in large part to the streamlined and elegant rules system. Folded into the back of the book is a double-sided battle map, similar to the battle maps that have appeared previously

Bastards. I hate 'em.

Miniatures are where the money is at.

Um deciphers CODA is quite a bit different from the D20...

its a 3d6 after all...

but easily converted. plus, all the coda stuff is explicitly single-classed, so converting to d20 is quite simple.

Feel your pain. I wrote the better part of huge revision of 2nd edition D&D... my own 3rd edition... before WotC announced theirs.

The difference there is that mine was far different than theirs.
