Appearance:
Lucas, average in height, and has an average build, though he's a bit heavier then he could be. You would have to look hard to see it though. He's doesn't have a very muscular build but he's not skinny guy either. His hair, long and straight, pitch black in color, hangs down his face, which bottoms out just below his jaw line, his bangs the same length as the rest of his hair. Normally only one side or the other gets pulled behind his ear for placement, but he's been known to hide his face behind those dark locks. Contrasting his hair, quite notably, is his uniquely Colored eyes. Grey in color, they are much lighter then you'd find in most people. If the light were to catch them just right, you might see a reflection back of almost pure silver. People have said that they could almost see his eyes glow in the dark, especially on a starry night or when the moon is shining brightly. Lucas typically wears ratty genes and will go out of his way to make them ratty, even when they are new. His shoes are converse all-stars... though he'll never wear the same color on each foot... (He's got like 5 pairs all different, red on one foot blue on the other, and so on.) Always wearing a black T-shirt, its usually untucked, its usually covered by a long sleeved plaid shirt, which color is dependent on his mood in the morning. His favorite color plaids are red, blue, and Dark grey. But it's ALWAYS a black shirt underneath. In colder weather, Lucas usually wears a black long coat, sort of like a trenchcoat, typically one with lots of pockets. Lucas never wears a hat. He typically finds them too constricting.
Personality:
Lucas always tends to crack his knuckles, either out of boredom, or nervousness, it's hard to tell. One thing is for sure, he tends to pick anything up and fiddle with it if he can. so it a safe bet that the knuckle cracking is probably just to keep his hands busy. He also tends to pull his hair behind his ears a lot, even if its not ruffled or in the way. He doesn't say much, though he does talk (and sometimes very animatedly) when others initiate conversation. He'd be just as content to sit next to someone and never utter a word as he would be to share a tale or two. An avid reader, Lucas enjoys reading most anything. You might find him sitting on the ledge of wall reading Homer, as you would see him on the couch reading a Conan story, or In a library studding his chemistry texts.
Family:
Colby Braeden, Father, 52. Professor of Philosophy at Earlham College.
Anna Meyers-Braeden, Mother, 37. Artist, Painter, Sculptor.
No brother or sister.
Michael Meyers, 40, Uncle, Airline Pilot, Northwest Airlines.
Jennifer Meyers, 41, Aunt, Architect
Sally Meyers, 18, Cousin
No living grandparents. No other Relatives.
History:
Lucas, as an only child, grew up pretty well balanced. His mother influenced him well, giving him a fine appreciation of art and sculpture, but his own style lacked a spark to bring him into the truly gifted arena. He could passably sketch, but his attempts at sculpture were pitiful. He picked up his passion for books from his father. He was given Alexander Dumas’ “The Three Musketeers” for his fifth birthday. He read it from cover to cover voraciously, and fell instantly in love the musketeers and swashbuckling adventures. Possessing a natural understanding of languages, he learned Greek from his father early in life, and only learned more languages just to satisfy his curiosity. French and Russian, and later Japanese, languages just came easily to him. He became highly interested in Chemistry, and more then one home science experiment managed to get him a scholarship at university. Graduating high school three years early, he had a natural knack for picking up information and understanding how things worked. He developed his own style and found the skater crowd one he could enjoy, and most of his friends accepted him into this circle. A voracious reader, often his lunches were spent reading in out on the school grounds. It didn’t matter what it was, he had widely varying tastes in material. He’d written several of his own stories, early on about further adventures of Dart’agnon, but even later he wrote many short stories and plays even. Two of his stories have been printed in Sci-Fi fanzines. With his knack for writing and unique understanding of chemistry, not to mention his enthusiasm for the subject, his easy aptitude with languages, and his appetite for books, Getting through college was a breeze for Luc.
