The NFL is working out a deal with this film scout to protect him from any legal fallout to get him to talk to them. I think somebody may be on the verge of having a very bad day. (tm)

While Goedell did try to just make it all go away quietly I'll give him credit for believeing what NE told him in that they had surrendered all materials in their posession. In that context quietly making it all go away may have been considered to be in the best interests of the owners. I don't think it was a good idea but at this point I don't think Godell was covering anything deliberately.

Now that he's got congress on his tail I don't believe he's going to make anouther brush it under the rug kind of move. I think there's going to be some sort of closure and investigation. At the very least I expect some facts will be forthcoming.
